Just imagine had we given Mcfadden a chance?
« on: November 08, 2006, 06:18:28 pm »

He got 65 against Ole Miss and 71 against Southeast Missouri State! Think about us getting him 200 in both games and we are talking about a kid averaging more like 150 a game! I know injury and we would all be wandering why he got 20 plus carries those games but if we want heisman?

I'm sorry but individual honors, as great as they are for the individual, should not take importance over team goals. I would not want to risk injury for stats.

He coulda gotten hurt and wouldn't have any yard from here on either. I will take a healthy D-mac over the individual stats also.

Hmmm.

Jason White = Won Heisman but we lost the NC
Josh Hepuel = Lost Heisman but we won the NC

~~~Take the National Championship~~~
~~~Don't worry about the Heisman~~~

He could have gotten more yards against SEMO, but I think Ole Miss did a good job of stopping him.

I called him after the SEMO game. He said he was glad those other guys got more carries. He really doesn't care about the stat sheet. He is going to make big bucks regardless of trophies. Don't get me wrong it would be great and I'm sure he would love it, but he would never ask for a carry over one of his teammates just so that he could pad his stats. He is too much of a team player.
