Never forget the elbow flap routine in batters box.
Had a Joe Morgan model bat....thickest handle ever

RIP.   The best 2nd baseman who ever lived.

That's five Hall of Famers -- four of them first-ballot -- who have died in the past six weeks.   Just insane.

It's hard for me to accept how old the great players of my youth are.  I have Tom Seaver and Johnny Bench rookie cards.  There's a hilarious "interview" of Joe Morgan by Jim Bouton in Ball Four.

Tribute: Joe Morgan gave The Big Red Machine wings to fly

Quote
Joe wasn’t just the best second baseman in baseball history, he was the best player I ever saw and one of the best people I’ve ever known. He was a dedicated father and husband and a day won’t go by that I won’t think about his wisdom and friendship. He left the world a better, fairer, and more equal place than he found it, and inspired millions along the way.”
