First play on offense
« on: September 23, 2020, 10:30:53 pm »

What do you say Arky fans!  Do we call a standard run play or do we do a deep play action pass to one of our stud receivers?  The 2000 Cotton Bowl replay made me question this because of our surprise stop and go to Lucas at the half yard line.  Thoughts?!

#5 or #16.... a little birdy told me  ;)

Could be a big play if we get enough blocking.

Everyone would expect us to start with a run or short pass.  I say go play action and send a stud (or two) deep but settle for the underneath if it ainít there.

Stromberg is confused by the crowd noise and snaps the ball too early. It bounces off Franks' facemask, but Limmer recovers at our 23.

... :-\...

I read this and got a mental image of throwing someone right out the side window into the yard and watching my dogs drag him around for a little while...

May happen, but I'll go with a Franks scramble for 7 yards, slipping out of bounds without being hit.

RB Screen would be my guess but if it involves Franks chest passing the ball to a WR in motion it would be really cool to have all the crowd cut outs simultaneously burst into flames.

Walking before running is usually a good idea.

The first play from scrimmage will be power out of 11 personnel. This is true no matter which team gets the ball first.

Our first offensive play from scrimmage might be a 20 yard wheel route pass to loosen up the boxed defense.

My unqualified intuition is that Briles might very well opt for a play with a potential for an initial first down big gainer to set the Georgia defense back on their heels a bit, opening up the ground game and attaining favorable field position.

Some kind of double reverse WR pass...only the wrong WR will get it and we'll eat a 20 yard loss.

Oh, wait.  Nevermind.  We fired Chad.

Preferably something that is executed well.
