What does the sign on an out-of-business brothel say?

Beat it. We’re closed.

That was on the front door of the Como Hotel in Fort Smith when they shut it down back in the 70's.  I know we were old enough to drive because we drove by and saw it, but not old enough to partake.  Made Hustler magazine.

I left Fort Smith in 1967 so I missed that.

Not only do I remember that but it was my boss that set the sign out there. I was a teenager and worked next door to it in an industrial laundry. And no I never went in there. The girls were pretty ugly.

Fort Smith Industrial Service. But a few years later I drove a rag route for Acme Laundry on Towson. A 20 ft. step van with Star Towel on the side of it. They must have bought out Star.
