2021 Class....
« on: June 30, 2020, 05:19:35 pm »

I'll admit that I am getting nervous about the 2021 class. What is going to happen?

I believe in the staff, but I don't really feel confident in any of the guys we have offered.
I feel great about who we are after, but I am unsure who we can get.

We've made cut lists for Harrison Ingram, Kendall Brown, K.J. Adams, Langston Love, and J.D. Davison(Alabama is where he will likely end up it seems).

We have recruited Hunter Sallis, Daimion Collins, and Trey Alexander pretty hard in the past. I am not sure the current status with any of those players.

Former Hog Stefan Welsh could probably steer Carter Whitt to us.

What about Will Tschetter or Johnathan Lawson?

Has anyone heard any updates on any of these players?

Kevin, are you in a position to share your thoughts here? Obviously not making predictions, but at least an idea of where the Hogs stand?

3 for sure with Justin Smith, Vance Jackson, and Jalen Tate graduating.

If Joe returns, I highly doubt he would stay for a 4th year so I would say 4 spots is likely.

It's also nearly impossible to get through an offseason without a transfer so it could be 5 or 6.

FWIW, 9 on the top 35 players for the 2021 class on 247 have committed to a school (15 of the top 50).

We're not behind. The virus has slowed recruiting way down for schools across the board, even if some schools have been able to land a recruit. Also, I'm not completely sure that only 15/50 committed in late June is too far off most years anyway.

For sure!

I definitely don't think we are behind. I am just worried if we can pull off getting some of these guys.
