listening to Cornette
« on: June 30, 2020, 06:56:37 am »

talking about the famous riot in Barton.  A few questions hoping that someone was there.  Was Danny Hodge in the ring when Shawn Michaels walked out.  Some said he was there to be the guest referee.  Was the match that they walked out of a tag match featuring Shamrock and someone vs Shawn and HHH??  What was actually thrown in the ring because Cornette said that the only thing thrown at Michaels was paper at 1st and then he walked out .  Thanks for any information

This really has nothing to do with the thread other than I was watching Corny talk about the bump Cactus Jack took against Mil Mascaras at Clash of the Champions. They have the whole match on youtube so I watched and he was right, it was pretty wicked. The back of Foley's head bounced off the concrete as he fell off the ring apron.

I wish I knew what happened at Barton but all I know is what Cornette said about it.

Cornette could generate some heat and his matches vs Rock And Roll Express are some of the greatest.  Him and his boys vs Watts or Dusty or whoever .  I sound old but back then they would write a story that would last for a year if they wanted it to.  Cornette talks about contracts and getting fired and quitting and who liked who and who would put someone over if they were leaving town.  Great podcasts if you were into wrestling then.  I have learned alot about good bookers and bad bookers and especially about Mid South and Memphis    For local guys who remember Saturday nights this is really interesting stuff
