With 5 seniors, basically all starters, plus Spangler graduation, Eaton and others must get ready for the responsibility of being the leaders the following year.

Yes, it is absolutely going to be a whole new ball game in the 2021-2022 season. That roster will look like this (barring transfer in or out or other unexpected movement):

Seniors: NONE (think about that ... no seniors on the roster. Doumbia would have been our only one, so unless she comes back, we are senior-less)

Juniors/RS Juniors:
Makayla Daniels, PG
Destinee Oberg, P
Marquesha Davis, W
Avery Hughes, G (currently a walk-on)
Erynn Barnum, P

Sophomores/RS Sophomores:
Destinee McGhee, P
Rylee Langerman, G
Elauna Eaton, G
Ginger Reece, G/W

Freshman:
Emrie Ellis, P
Samara Spencer, G
Ashlyn Sage, W
Jersey Wolfenbarger G/W
TBN - Reportedly, we are only recruiting Maryam Dauda for this spot as of now.

There are two open schollies on the roster in this scenario (not counting the “Dauda” spot).

My questions are:
1) Do we use one/two schollies on Grad Transfers to add some experience, and then have them for the 2022 class?

2) If Dauda (heaven forbid!) goes elsewhere, do we also bank that schollie for 2022?

3) Really curious to see how many recruits we are going to target in 2022. We are recruiting at LEAST five blue chippers from that class: Sa’Myah Smith (TX), Ysabella Fontleroy (MO), Dariana Littlepage-Buggs (OK), Amauri Williams (NLR), and Carleigh Wenzel (TX). I doubt we will get them all — heck, we may not get any at the end of the day — but I am sure we are currently trying. Barring transfer out, I don’t see four or five spots (unless someone retires, I suppose).

Sorry, I’ve gone well past your point about Eaton being ready, but as excited as I am to see next year’s team, I’m just as curious to see what the 2022 recruiting picture looks like. You’d think people would want to come play with Jersey, right? (And Eaton, and so on...)

I believe Weaver redshirted this year so, if she stays, I believe she will be a senior.  If not and if there are no grad transfers, I believe Daniels is mature enough to effectively provide senior type leadership.

No evidence for this, but I just have a hard time seeing Weaver stick around for a fifth year. But I believe you are correct that she could be eligible for one.

Go get some GT's if necessary when ever you need older talent.
