Lawrence has offers from Ole Miss, Ark State, SLU, and So Miss, at least.

Jenna Lawrence is the first player profiled in this recap of a recent HS “All American” camp in Memphis:

https://nyghoopsreport.com/news/ie-aa-2020

Also, here is a highlight video of Lawrence:
https://youtu.be/FtFsYCQ88M8

Note also that 2022 Caroline Lyles from FHS is profiled a little lower in the Memphis camp article. I didn’t mention her above in my 2022 blurb because I don’t think she has a Hog offer.

A blocking machine!  That's quite impressive as a freshman, with a tremendous upside!  Honestly surprised she only has 1 (now 2) power 5 offers, but glad we're getting in early :)

Well, she plays for a small school in Arkansas. She does play for a good AAU club in Woodz Elite, but I think the slow down in recruiting has probably limited her chances to be seen.

Glad we are in when we are. Hope she likes the home state team! :-)

As best I recall Jenna was identified as a prospect and target some time ago (if memory serves accurately, by you Psych), hopefully she has felt the love from the staff during this pandemic.  I recall mentioning her length before and the fact that she (much like Emrie Elliss) has a skill set that fits with the hog systemic pretty well.

i dont think anyone has mentioned the ability to defend the post and conversely to score inside at critical times anymore than I.  But big and active guards, diving down and double teaming helps a lot and can neutralize a deficit to defending the post.  We got better at that this year.  That is not to say we dont need more.  Jersey and a 6-2 girl working in tandem with her (or two) could change that particularly is they are long armed, quick off their feet and shot blockers without fouling.  Ellis has those skills plus the ability to step out and hit the three, even be a modified dragon from the five spot (which is what osahor did as well).   i haven't watched a ton of film on Lawrence, but she does have range as well.  Two years ago we had two 6-1 players and a six 6-3 player (two of whom were freshmen).  Now we have about double that for the next few years.  Anyway you look at it, that leaves a possibility of a step up and more flexibility in a key area.

Yes, flippin, I think there are definite similarities between Ellis and Lawrence. And Lawrence was 6'2" as a Fr, so there is certainly a likelihood that she'll be taller by the time she enrolls in college. (The heights I have seen for Ellis seem to have "stuck" at 6'2" - not sure if that is still accurate or what, but both she and Lawrence seem to be good positional defenders with long arms.) I like this offer.

She looks like a winner to me.  Blocking was impressive.  The fact she can dribble the ball up the court and shoot from any position is also impressive.  We just need to keep the good ones in state or at least most of them.

Here's a longer, video interview with Chloe Clardy. I may be reading too much into her statements to RD; there's a little more context here to see, and it's possible that she's just a young kid who is still learning how to do interviews, and who may be nervous talking about herself a bit to the media.

I still wish there were more home state enthusiasm, though! 😉

Awesome!  Curious to see if/when the offer to Breona Hurd is coming?  She's a top 10 player (currently) from central Missouri.  6'1 W/F with a good build (just as a 7th grader she very much stands out physically).

Well, Mike follows her on twitter (though her account is run by her family, per the account itself), and she/they follow him back. Not too many coaches following yet - obvs the Mizzou staff, a guy from LSU. Thanks for the tip - will keep an eye on it!

My pleasure!  There's a short highlight clip of about 26 seconds, but show's her range both offensively and defensively.

5'10" combo guard Cori Allen out of Nashville is the latest 2023 to pick up a Hog offer.

https://twitter.com/BigGuardCori/status/1279070574120259585

Allen is ranked #17 by Hoopgurlz for 2023.

Here are some highlights from 7th grade.  Standouts for me are her size for her age and her ball handling skills, which are quite advanced for that age.  She was set to play against GiGi Bryant and the Mambas team in the next tournament i believe, so I think she's pretty legit :)  she comes from the Prestigious CyFair Elite Sports AAU program that has consistently facilitated top DI Talent including:
Tyler Scaifes (Little Rock, Rutgers), Taber Spani (Tenner), Stephanie Holzer (Vandy), Nneka & Chiney Ogumike (Stanford), and our own Chelsea Dungee! (and many many others).

Lofton's coaches call her a "walking bucket" and "an excellent facilitator".

I am loving the nickname "Big Guard Cori".  And she's a really nice compliment in that recruiting class to Maryn Archer.  Definitely different type of combo guard where Maryn is more of a true point.  Cori reminds me of Chelsea/Elauna a bit, and a touch of Maya Moore honestly, in her style of play and body type combo.  A few highlights below:

I completely agree.  I really like this staff's ability to recognize good fits into their system at such a young age and get in early to develop those relationships.  Starting to really pay off dividends!

2023 commit Maryn Archer's AAU team, TeamLex 2023, is having a great summer so far. They won their competition last weekend, and today they won another.

https://twitter.com/TeamLexNation/status/1281040229458198528

Archer is #23 at the far right of the front row, and another Hog 2023 target, Addy Brown, is #24 in the standing row. She was noted as a "standout" at last weekend's tournament: https://twitter.com/PBRhoops/status/1280504366793981959

Awesome update!!  Turns out Addy Brown is the little sister of former McDonald's All-American Kennedy Brown (6'6''), who will be a sophomore at Oregon State this year.  She started 23 games as a true freshman before tearing her ACL in February.

This article states that Maryn and Addy are best friends, and they both started as Freshmen on a Derby HS team that was likely about to win its 2nd state championship in three years.  Addy is currently 6'2, but could easily continue to grow, as she will be just a sophomore this year.  The best friends thing could help us out in recruiting her, but there will likely also be pull from OSU/her sister.  Although I would love for that to be swayed and for her to transfer to AR as well, and they could have a year playing together, giving us a 6'6 post player that started in the Pac-12 as a true freshman :)

https://www.kansas.com/sports/varsity-kansas/varsity-basketball/article244147282.html

Here are some freshman year highlights for Addy Brown.  I can't quite find which six DI schools she currently has offers from though, so if anyone can find that info, I appreciate it!

Psych, I could be totally wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's not Maryn Archer in the photo for Team Lex.  It doesn't look like her to me, and she's not listed on their roster with Addy Brown.  Pretty sure that's Rylee Verduin out of Dallas.

Hmm... I thought they were playing on the same AAU team, so I just assumed. But looking at some AAU pics on Archer's twitter feed, she is actually #2 for Team Lex, not #23. My bad! It would seem Maryn didn't play the weekend that photo was taken. Sorry about that!

As penance for my sins, let me share this article about Archer and Addy Brown and their HS team in Derby, KS!

https://www.kansas.com/sports/varsity-kansas/varsity-basketball/article244147282.html

Also, as a random observation, Coach Neighbors and Coach Todd Schaefer are now both following 2021 F Kendra Gillespie out of OK, who decommitted from Ole Miss this spring following their Assistant Coaching change. No offer yet, that I can see, but she is picking up a lot of interest (recent offers from TCU, Colorado, Kansas, and Marquette). Not saying she'll get an offer, but it's interesting that she is Coach Todd's most recent follow. (Coach Love is not following her as of now, though.)

I had to give you a hard time :)

Speaking of Kendra Gillespie, here is a link to her Hudl profile with some highlight videos.  I've seen her listed as a Wing by ESPN, but I just don't see that; definitely a forward/post who just happens to be a great 3 point shooter.  While only about 6'2 currently, she's a big body with a REALLY good 3 stroke.  She honestly reminds me of Osahor with a bit more mobility.  Looks like Marquette just offered her a scholarship, not sure who else has since her de-commitment from Ole Miss.

Noticed that CMN is following Freshman-to-be 2024 class Wesleigh Ferguson of Benton, AR.   She's currently a 5'11 G/W and seems pretty legit.  Honestly reminds me of Jersey quite a bit!

You might keep in mind that '22 candidate Sa’Myah Smith - 6’4” G/F, Texas DeSoto is currently rehabbing a torn ACL.  The high four star with guard skills (a good fit with Jersey's skills) will have somethings to prove without a lot of opportunity to prove them (at least compared to normal pre virus years) to get really back to a household name again as an ACL is still a major injury to overcome before full mobility is restored.  Our chief competition for her would tend to be Baylor or perhaps Ms State.  Those where the only other major schools to show interest in her by her injury.  We were the first P5 to show interest in her.  Patience and that early interest might help us, who knows.

Per Raoul on twitter, Chantae Embry, who had been mentioned as a possible 2021 target for the Hogs a while back, has announced her four finailsts:

Kansas, K State, TAMU, and Mo State.

Not a big surprise at this juncture the the Hogs were not included. There has been a mutual decrease in interest for a while. She's a bit undersized for her position for the SEC (and probably B12), but I think she'd be a great fit at Mo State.

Indeed: Here's Chantae's tweet: https://twitter.com/chantae_embry/status/1290339770443239424

New 2022 offer goes out to Ava Sciolla:

https://twitter.com/pbelles2022/status/1290704542426898432

She is a 5’11” PG/SG from Pennsbury (suburban Philly) HS and she is coached by her dad. Plays AAU for the Philly Belles, one of the better east coast teams. She has offers from several programs including Maryland, St. John’s, GW, Rhode Island, and Dayton. Here are a couple clips of her in action:

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4359022/5f13498a5ca91f0c1c9336c6

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10830574/5e70fca957982217a82e62a3

Looks like a nice, tall guard who can score at all 3 levels and with both hands, has a very quick release on her shot, and is a + passer.

Very nice, thank you for the share!

She's got a VERY quick release on the 3, i mean on par with Lex and Amber, which we all know is a huge asset in this system.  She's also got a good drive and guard post up game, and I agree on her being a + passer.  All of those things combined show she has really good court awareness.  Exciting stuff!

Does anyone have a running list of all the recruits we've offered/have committed for future classes, broken down by class?

Wasn't sure if one of you had a spreadsheet built already or not :)  If so, can you post it?

Ha! No spreadsheet (yet), but here is what I threw together pretty fast. I'm sure I left someone obvious off.

2022 offers I'm aware of:

Amauri Williams, P, NLR
Dariana Littlepage-Buggs, W, Classen-SAS (OK)
Ysabella Fontleroy, W, Kickapoo (MO)
Sa'Myah Smith, P/F, DeSoto (TX)
Carleigh Wenzel, G, O'Connor (TX)
Kharyssa Richardson, G/F, New Manchester (GA)
T'yana Todd, G, Canada
Myka Perry, G, Norman (OK)
Karley Johnson, G, Newcastle (OK)
Ava Sciolla, G, Pennsbury (PA)

2023 Offers:
Maryn Archer (committed), G, Derby (KS)
Addy Brown, F, Derby KS
Chloe Clardy, G, Conway
Stailee Heard, G/W, Sapulpa (OK)
Cori Allen, CG, Hillsboro (TN)
Jenna Lawrence, W/F, Melbourne
Jada Williams, G, Blue Springs (MO)
Tyra Robinson, F/P, LR Parkview
MiKaylah Williams, G/W Bossier City (LA)

2024 Offers
Taliyah Parker, G, Putnam City W (OK)

2025
Keziah Lofton, G (OK)

I have a feeling I have missed a 2024, but I can't find it right now and I have to hop into a meeting. I'll do some more sleuthing later....

Edit: We may have offered Ashlon Jackson, 2022, G/W out of San Antonio, as well. Not 100% sure, because she doesn’t tweet out her offers.

I also think that we may offer 2025 Tyler Jones from Memphis and the Arkansas Banshees program before too long. And possibly 2025 LA Sneed from SA Finest, too.

You're the best Psych!

I still can't believe they haven't offered that girl from Benton who's a 2024 I believe?  Also interesting that we don't have any 2022 commits yet.  :-\

If they have offered her — and they might have — I can’t suss it out on social media.

And the 2022 thing is interesting. It makes me think that maybe they are confident in some people, but then again, new 2022 offers are continuing to go out (Richardson, Sciolla) in the past couple months.

With respect to 2023s, I think you have to like our chances with Lawrence. They seem to be pretty interested in M Williams and Addy Brown, as well. And of course, I’m sure they really want Clardy a lot!

And we have a new 2025 offer dropping today: Keeley Parks, who is the younger sister of 2022 Norman HS player Mikayla Parks (I don't think Mikayla has a Hog offer). Keeley played up with her sister's U17 team at a recent AAU tournament and apparently did quite well. Pretty impressive. Also, we are her first offer.

Tonight, Embry announced her choice: Texas Tech (not included in her top 4 — but probably a function of liking the UTA staff, but not the UTA program. Now she gets that staff at a P5 school). Still think she may be undersized for a P5 program, but this is a nice first commit for Coach Gerlich at the dumpster fire that is Texas Tech WBB right now.

In Hog news, CMN is now following 2025 G Ky Wilson (@kygothops on twitter) from Lonoke. Wilson has already been offered by Arkansas State.

Also, I am 99.9% sure that this tweet from 2023 Cori Allen refers to a call with Arkansas:

2022 Amauri Williams from NLR announced her Top 10 today. Good group of schools, and the Hogs are included.

We did offer Jackson, evidently, but we did not make her short list of finalists. She did not publish the list, but I have it on pretty good authority that the Hogs were not included. I will be surprised if she leaves the state of Texas unless it is for a Stanford-type program.

Plenty of other 2022 options out there to add to Karley Johnson, however!

New 2025 offer to report: 6'1" (!!) 2025 G out of Overland Park, KS, Aubrey Shaw.

https://twitter.com/AubreyShaw23/status/1309213192753745922

Aubrey is the younger sister of Aiden Shaw, who was offered by Coach Musselman yesterday. She is also one of the Blue Star 30 kids who were just invited/are currently traveling (I think) to Blue Star camp.

Here's one of her tweets that shared a recent highlight video:

I think we are her third offer behind the home state Jayhawks and Vandy.
