Would not be opposed on taking a chance with Hugh Freeze as OC. We gotta get this thing rolling and he has the experience to win big sec ball games.

CSP said he wants leaders on and of the field so......NO.  Being a good coach and having class and morals are not mutually exclusive.

Looks like Caldwell was also at Criswell's visit. I think he will be the only one retained from the current staff with Lunney leaving to be OC at UTSA.

Slowly, but surely, the SMU mafia will find jobs.

Morris: OC at Auburn (may he destroy their mojo as well)
Traylor: HC at UTSA (Best of luck)
Lunney: OC at UTSA (learn everything you can learn and return to UA some day)
Chavis: "Thanks for visiting WalMart"

True, but some things take longer to fade away than others. Freeze would fall into that category.

Unless your happen to be a basketball coach at some SEC schools....no names...

I've heard that Chavis was leaving anyway even if Morris hadn't been fired. My guess is he is retiring to the nice home that he and his wife have in Knoxville, Tennessee.

I mean, he's definitely not going to get the job checking receipts as customers leave the store because that would involve stopping people but he's good at letting them through.

Plus he is doing home visits, so it is pretty for sure

Waiting for an official release from the University of Arkansas before adding anyone to the list as an assistant coach.

Why would he retire and give up his buyout from the University?  I'm confident he will "diligently seek employment" for the next year (unsuccessfully) and THEN retire.  Anything else at this point would just be dumb.

I know that would be foolish. I would love to see the university (with the coaches that have buyouts but don't get jobs) have them do something? Like maybe make them mow or paint the field, something, anything. I know he would be one heck of an expensive groundskeeper, but might them look for another gig in a hurry lol.

I really hope CBD can groom up a center!!!

Some of those snaps last year hung in the air soo long I thought the nose guard was going in for an interception!!!!

Per Nashville radio, we are targeting this one:

https://utsports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/kevin-sherrer/3264

Probably a longshot but wonder if that would impact French and co. any.

With early signing period just around the corner why is it taking so long to get people in place kids want to know who there coach is and what we will run?

The early period goes dead for a month starting.Sunday night so he thinks recruiting is most important now.  But I think he is teaching out to his buds to check their interest.

Did not think about that.  I would think it would get our foot back in the door if they sign late and at least allow us to make a pitch.

I can’t remember a high school snap that moved so slow. Surely, one person on the staff noticed that.

I noticed it stopped when someone else was snapping the ball.

More worried about reaching out to players right now and then getting coaches locked in as he goes.  It was in his presser.

The coaches page has been updated. I wonder if these are the coaches he is keeping.

Highly doubtful, not when he boasted to the players that he had over 100 messages from coaches wanting to come here and coach...if that was fact Im pretty sure he can be pretty picky about his hires.

very interested to see who we're able to get.  I remember when Chad said he was gonna hire the best DC in the country and then gave us Chavis lol

I actually would be okay with Kenny Ingram and Ron Cooper staying.  Coach Pittman may want 2 Defensive Line Coaches, a Coach just coaching the Defensive Tackles and a Coach just coaching the Defensive Ends.  That may signify Tray Scott and Ingram.

Cooper has a lot of SEC experience.

Regarding Kevin Sherrer, he could be the Linebackers Coach (he has coached both Outside Linebackers and Inside Linebackers).

Yeah, because who amongst us has ever fallen short in the class/morals department..........

Falling short is one thing. Falling down a deep hole because you are a hypocrite is another..........
