That is really concerning if nobody in Athletic Department, BOT, PTB, GOBN thought we couldn't lose today.

Just because you have a seven digit income doesnít mean you canít still have a single digit football IQ.

They wouldnít be dumb enough to hire him.

He might have been safe yesterday, but when you are down 35 to 7 at halftime to a QB that you had playing for your own team last year then things change real quick.

Nobody up there thought we were gonna get beat today.

Nobody.

Think the players had something to say about Chad after the game....

They said it to Hunter.

PRJ

They told him he was safe because everyone assumed he would win this game and possibly push Mizzou?  Seems bizarre to tell him heís safe and then pull the rug.  Unless of course, they told him he was safe on condition of winning.

If for no other reason; Chad just couldn't survive any longer. It was posted on social media that fans wanted him fire at halftime. Things like that happen you don't have the thing you need the most. The support of the fans. Add to that the rumors of a lost locker room; well, like I said; just wasn't any way to get around all that. As far as him melting down, I just don't know what to say about that. If he didn't see this coming, he has no business being an HC anywhere!

Itís easy to believe. Morris met with HY. Told him of the game plan, State of the team and it sounded good. Then today happens. Obviously HY gave him the vote of confidence, but had this planned just in case. .

The state of the team? We've seen guys giving 150% while other's are just standing around with their hands on their hips... you dont need chad to tell you about the state of the team.

Hogville represents the sports enthusiast bloc of the fan base, but the 'fun social gathering' crew is probably much larger and definitely includes some of the money folks.

Who told him he was safe yesterday?  If it was HY, I could understand him being pissed.  I wonder if someone else told him he's safe yesterday and HY informed him otherwise today.

Maybe other things came into play.
The way we lost. Just owned by WKU.
Pretty much a fan revolt on social media and horrible attendance.
And maybe the players did have some things to say to Hunter.
No coach can survive - money boosters, fans and player revolt.

I think it was how dead we looked. Wasn't expected.

Couple that with what I think will come out in the next day or two, players went all in against him after the game.

It was the end of the line.

PRJ
If your good source yesterday thought that he was safe, even with a loss to W. Kentucky....anybody that thought that he was good to go might be cause for you to think that they are not reliable.  And anybody that didn't think that we could lose is a moron.  Look at the record the last two years.

This is correct. It's 10 million bucks. Safely he might make a half million a year. Thats 2.5 million in 5 years, not 10 million. Only way he takes a discount is if its 7 million.

Unless there are things that have occurred behind the scenes that arenít out in the light of day that Chad would rather keep that way.  Just sayin...

Don’t know if you know this but PRJ is only reporting what he heard, he doesn’t make the news. I’d trust PRJ before I’d trust you.
He was just passing along what he was told from someone who should be in a position to know.  No need for the snark.  Please, tell us what you know?
This goes along with Morris being told he was safe yesterday the something  Nd changed today/this afternoon

This is the same dude that died on the "CMA is never leaving" hill. Changes with the wind, typically after others start reporting stuff.

Also, I refuse to believe everything was fine and dandy and then HY suddenly changed his mind because we lost yet another game. Think, people.

Anything up to $3.5M/annually is owed to him for 4 years. Something like that. If you are a HS HC making $100K in East Texas that means the other $3.4M comes from UA/RF. UNLESS you sign some sort of negotiated buyout. Like, this weekend.

Iíll back PRj on this all day, I made my way to the game at halftime today via invitation. Had a nice convo with some folks in a suite. It was a divided convo and I wanted to punch one attendee in the forehead for backing Morris for another season with changes to staff as the stipulation. You canít make up how ignorant some of our high grade money folk can be. And every one of them seem to be in business for themselves vs what is seemingly best for the program. Folks say we deserve better as a fan base. Iím nowhere near convinced based on the folks I visit with because their football IQ is an endangered species. Thankfully there is enough blood in the street to seemingly overrule these people.

Absolutely makes no sense for Morris to do this.

If he's delusional enough to think that he might be employed somewhere as a head coach again anytime soon then it does make sense.

The buyout is roughly 2.5 mil per season offset by any earnings.
If he were to get another job paying 2.5 mil or above then he doesn't get a cent.  Even a coordinators job paying 1.5 mil only nets him  1 mil from us.  He's still much better off taking 5 mil today with no future offsets.

The only way holding out for the full 10 mil makes sense if if he sits on his ass and doesn't draw a salary like Bert.

You are never safe in college football if you arent winning

My friends grandfather after the 1st or 2nd game realized it was going to be a rough year.

He went to the AD and told him he wanted to play the younger players and just build on the future but needed assurance that he would have his back and wouldn't be fired.   The AD agreed and at the end of a 3-6-2 season and even after beating their rival ....he was fired.
