#3 Coaches hot seat

This quote was about UCLA (who would have thought Chip Kelly would be THIS bad?), but it very much applies to Arkansas a 13-46 SEC team since the ditch incident,

“It feels like we have been circling a black hole for awhile now knowing that the black hole is going to suck us in and we just wish it would go ahead and crush us to atoms and get it over with because what’s going on right now is nothing short of Hell!”

I can't believe Fuente is on this list at all.  Kind of a joke if you ask me...

The media lusted over Moorhead more than Saban and Smart in both previous offseasons. He'll still probably go bowling this year.

They're still reeling from losing the best coach in program history.

Funny how many coaches on that list are also on Hogville coaching wish lists.

Yeah, that list just proves there is NEVER a sure thing when hiring a coach.

I can't believe Fuente is on this list at all.  Kind of a joke if you ask me...

He's already lost to Boston College, and Duke beat them by 5 touchdowns.
The wins have been against Furman, Rhode Island, Miami, and Old Dominion(who beat him last year).

This weekend against UNC is a big game for them, 'cause I don't see them beating Notre Dame or Virginia.

What I think is joke is the Fisher and Kirby Smart are listed ahead of Mason. Only in the SEC can you be in the top 10 in the nation and be in the top 10 on the hot seat.

Being able to win games at Memphis, against their competition is not the selling point people try to make it.

Typical VT season.  Beamer just beat more of the lower tier teams than Fuente is.

Kirby Smart's seat is hotter than Derek Mason's.  The list loses all credibility right there.  Kirby Smart's seat is not hot, not in the top 50.

No, the wins were BECAUSE OF NORVELL, not Fuente. This has PROVEN to be the case, as many of us already knew.

Because UGA actually has expectations. Vandy doesnt.

And Kirby is a freaking MORON who lost a good chunk of his good will last week in that PATHETICALLY coached showing vs South Carolina. He gave the game away THREE TIMES..

You don’t lose to Old Dominion. It’s what we encountered with SJSU except he’s been there longer.

I almost started a thread titled “The Art of Hiring a College Football Coach” but opted not to. Though this was the premise. There is no exact science to hiring coaches. Heck. Nobody saw Saban becoming what he has by looking at his Michigan St record.

This is why I hate it when someone’s hired and there’s backlash...cuz no one REALLY knows.

I am a Petrino fan but I have to say I got a good chuckle out of their statement about what they would not hire him to do.

The Kirby Smart ranking is more akin to what ESPN does in their bottom 10. They would often save the 5 spot for an underperforming P5 team that had a woeful performance the week before.

I would be very very shocked if Morris is fired this year.  I think he gets year 3 and if he wins 5 or 6 next year then he gets year 4.

Hiring a new coach is not always the answer.

But I do expect the RF and Boosters to have something to say with what assistant coaches will not be coming back next year.

So is it coaching or has VT just hit a rough spot as far as old versus new recruits?  Did VT have a good class this last year?

I'm not saying fans don't need to be concerned, but Fuente has done a pretty good job up to this point everywhere he has been.  I think one rough season he should get a pass and see if he can't bounce back next year.  Just my own humble opinion.
