27.5 last year, so not far off from the eventual 31 point loss.

do you really think we keep within 3 scores of auburn?  are you trying to get my hopes up, just to dash them on saturday?

Hahaha not at all. Just that it is a weird game for Auburn. 11am kick off. A cupcake opponent. LSU next week. I wouldn't be shocked if we don't see a complete bloodbath. Maybe something like a 28 7. 24 0.

Who knows?

I'm honestly not sure if we cover but wouldn't be surprised. I think covering around 20 points for a typical freshman QB like Nix is a pretty tall order, and our defense has been forcing turnovers.

lol, and I thought Vegas was giving us too much credit.

I guess perspective changes everything.

I'm not saying it's impossible but 3.5 point movement is insane. Would indicate vegas was way off on their initial line.

Welp. getting pretty close.  Vegas was just underestimating the number of people who would put any money on the hogs regardless of the line.

In fairness, we havenít been blown out by anyone (yet).

In fairness, we haven't played a team with a winning record yet.

Auburn (-19) at Arkansas

The only thing that could save Morris here is Malzahn calling off his team so as not to embarrass his long-time friend.

Auburn returns from bye to face no-quit Arkansas

Gus has seen the tape.  He's seen the struggle.

Heís seen the Razorbacksí frustrations come out on film. Heís seen them miss opportunities, make mistakes and fall down in defeat.

But what he hasnít seen when studying Arkansas is a team thatís quit ó

5 burning questions for Auburn against Arkansas https://247sports.com/college/auburn/LongFormArticle/5-burning-questions-for-Auburn-Tigers-against-Arkansas-Razorbacks-137120690 Ö

HOW DOES AUBURN SIMPLIFY THE OFFENSE?
Gus Malzahn placed all the blame on Auburnís offensive struggles at Florida on himself. He has to find a way to keep quarterback Bo Nix out of trouble, and make the correct adjustments in the game to place players in better positions to be successful.

Honestly, Auburnís play-calling has been relatively good this season. If Nix hits one of three passes in the red zone, the Tigers take the lead at Florida late in the third quarter. He instead misfired all three times, with the last pass resulting in an interception in the end zone. Malzahn has never blamed a player publicly during his tenure. Itís not his style.

So, considering the issues Nix had at one of the tougher road environments he will ever face in The Swamp, whatís the plan moving forward? Weíre told the Tigers will simplify things for him. That doesnít necessarily mean taking power out of his hands. In fact, the true freshman quarterback will have more power running the offense than ever before.

WILL AUBURN FORCE TURNOVERS AGAINST A PASS-HEAVY OFFENSE? ...

Arkansas and Vandy make for bad SEC football teams and prime betting opportunities in Week 8

Quote
Auburn at Arkansas

Kickoff: noon ET Saturday Line: Auburn -19.5 Over/Under: 55 Ticket Count: Auburn 78%

I recommended Auburn earlier this week. The price has floated in the dead zone between -17.5 and -19.5, but 20 is a key number and I would not recommend chasing it if it reaches that Saturday. Gus Malzahn has a history of destroying Arkansas straight-up and against the spread. He has incentive to do so, as the specter of Malzahn becoming the Razorbacksí next head coach has worked in his favor in the past (and may do so again in the near future). Arkansas does not present a credible threat in the passing game, so Auburnís strong defensive line can sit on the run and dominate.

THE PLAY: Auburn -19.5

I remember being in Vegas years ago when we played Florida at home.   It was an enormous spread.  For fun I bet 100.00 on Arkansas.     We fumbled late in the 4th and Florida scooped and scored.   I lost.  That was my last sports bet.

Iím not sure why a mod feels the need to update the thread title.  The line opens at -16.5 and has been bet up to the -19.5.

I doubt many of any bet Arkansas.

Iím sure those who claim losing by less than predicted was a sign of improvement put their money where their mouth is.  Or not.
