Looks like someone with a decent bank account has gotten tired of DePaul being a major conference basement dweller

It's a bit unusual. Especially since they are on a 3 year probation for violating NCAA rules.

Jerrell Colbert has committed to LSU... great another super long, lanky big guy. The Tigers dont seem to ever run out of length and athleticism

Manny Obaseki is headed to Texas A&M. Really love having Buzz Williams in College Station  :-\
That's the 2nd guard they've got committed who we were high on. They now have the #28 and 35 players in the country

He is a gifted player and athlete.  He is not the best of shooters from deep so that could hurt him at his size, but is quick and elusive with great athleticism and seems to play long and lanky for his height.

I know we were recruiting him, but it doesn't seem we were that high on him.  I agree we were high on Jaxson Robinson, but I figure we were not as pursuant of Obaseki due to being a smaller combo type of guard with not the best perimeter shooting ability.  I would have been glad to have landed him though as he is talented.  He would have given us potential four left handed guards along with Sills, KK Robinson, and Davis lol.  A&M may have had a big leg up here with location and proximity to him.  They seem to be doing good on the recruiting trail.  They were able to get big man Jonathan Aku reclassify to the 2019 class when they landed him.

I remember months back that there was talk of Obaseki possibly reclassifying to the 2020 class.  A&M may have been one of those schools, so this could be for their current class.

So why isn't Jalen Ricks jumping at the chance to play for Musselman and the Hogs? I just don't understand these in-state kids thinking it is in their best interest to go out of state, or that they have to go to Kentucky to make it to the NBA. Any in-state player can make it to the NBA via Fayetteville just as well as they can via Lexington, IF they are good enough.

Well we have a limited number of spots and Ingram, Alexander and Collins are all listed as warm in the OP who are all rated higher than him. Not sure how updated those are but I'm sure it will all sort itself out. A year ago around this time some people didn't think we would have room for Robinson and no one saw Davis flipping from Oklahoma State since we were all talking about guys like Kyree Walker lol.

According to 247 we're now "Warm" on FOUR top 25 players in this class, with multiple others talking to the coaching staff--none of whom are from Arkansas. And trey alexander is "warm" and top 50. Other SEC schools are about to start accusing us of cheating.

Even if we land just one of the top 25 players, plus Ricks, and hold onto the fantastic 4 freshmen, we'll be looking really solid in 2021. And you gotta know we'll add a top graduate transfer to that class as well.

Robinson and Obeseki to A&M and that is fishy.  Chandler is going to Duke.

Alabama Mr. Basketball J.D. Davison narrows his college list
Calhoun senior basketball star J.D. Davison released his Top 10 on Thursday night.

Alabama’s Mr. Basketball, Jerdarrian “J.D.” Davison, has narrowed his college choices to 10.

The state’s Gatorade Player of the Year for 2020 released his list on social media.

6-foot-3 Davison capped his junior season with what likely is the year’s most defining moment. In a 61-61 tie against Barbour County in the Class 2A title game, Davison dribbled out most of the final two minutes of the game, made a move to the basket, then stepped back and drilled the game-winning 3-pointer from the top of the key with a second left for the Calhoun win:

J.D. Davison. For. The. Win.

Davison finished the game with 34 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals. He was named MVP of the tournament. For the season, he averaged 30.4 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists.

“It seems like he’s won almost every award this year, and he’s certainly deserving,” Calhoun coach Ervin Starr told AL.com this spring. “He’s a very well-rounded player, a very intelligent player. A lot of people see the athleticism, but they don’t understand his basketball IQ is phenomenal. He makes it look easy, but he puts a lot of work into learning his craft.”

Davison is the No. 1 player in the state in his class and the No. 18 player in the nation.

It seems a lot of activity going on around the country, starting to feel left out a bit.
