And obviously you are slow....

I'll speed up when results match east Texas. I didn't mean to sound like i didn't think he was trying. I know he is.

Stromberg was a nice pick up, but Tulsa/Broken Arrow is producing a ton of talent and were not doing any better than the previous staff did. Maybe I'm wrong and we land Hester

Alexander from Owasso in the first class.

Stromberg and Latham in the second class.

Offers to Morrison and Jacobs (and Slusher, and Rahm, and Hester, and maybe Mayberry - not sure) in the third class.

Morris is hitting the Tulsa area just fine.

One thing to remember Bret was here like 3 years before he said he didn't realize Tulsa was that close to Fayetteville. He put much more emphasis on South Florida and the Big Ten states.

Wow. . . Like, how did he not understand this? Tulsa has over a million in the metro now. .

Come on.  The guy lacked the self awareness to realize that this wasnít a good look for him.  Iím not surprised at anything after that.

Smith, who finds hidden gems and sends their film to big-time programs for free, also noticed something in Jacobs.

Who is Smith, who sends film around to big-time schools for free?

He didn't seem to realize the proximity to Texas, either. But I gotta hand it to him figuring out a way to make a recruiting trip to Hawaii right off the bat.

And that pretty much sums up Bert's entire time here....it was all about him and what was in it for him.

That being said, and Iím no CBB fan, it still doesnít mean he missed out on Josh Jacobs...as the OP implies. Just curious...how did Miami, FSU, and Florida miss out on Alex Collins?

Did none of our coaches watch film, hear from other coaches, or even have a clue what was literally in our back yard to the West? Yes none of our neighbors did either but that seems no excuse. Watch film of this wonderful player and tell me why

Arkansas dicked around until it was too late.

...not sure. How did Bob Stoops and Mike Gundy miss out on him?
I know folks don’t like Bret, but to criticize him for not landing Jacobs while the two major schools in Oklahoma didn’t either is weak by the OP.

Exactly this

"Honestly, if Alabama didnít offer me I still wasnít going to go to Oklahoma," Jacobs said Thursday. "I would have probably ended up going to Missouri. Just because of the fact that (Oklahoma) started recruiting me like two weeks before (signing day). And I had seen them at my games before so itís not like they didnít know who I was. Thatís probably the biggest thing. I felt disrespected, honestly."

Ironic that one would have to be looking back in order to defend or blame someone...

Time to quit blaming Bret, Jeff, John L., Bobby, HDN, John White, etc. The program is where it is for a number of reasons and nothing can change that.
Time to move on and look to the future.

So, you mean he wasn't automatically coming to Arkansas if Alabama hadn't offered, like some poster above said? ;)

They missed out on Collins because Charlie Partridge and Bielema worked their asses off for getting him to come to Arkansas, and were on him for many months before that. Miami sure wanted Collins and Kirkland. They didn't miss out, they were just suffering an image problem from the effects of the NCAA investigation around the program. Collins very likely would have ended up at Wisconsin if Bielema had remained there, too.

Still no reason to question why or complain that he ďmissedĒ on Jacobs.
Oh well, carry on.
