Opening Celebration Day
« on: June 14, 2019, 08:47:01 am »

We have light rain in Omaha this morning.
Has anyone seen how that will affect the open team practice?
I haven't been able to find anything. The Hogs practice at 11:10 to noon.
Rain should be gone by afternoon.

Will any of the Opening Ceremony be televised?

That's crap. ESPN already has everything in place they need to broadcast it; why not?
ESPN complains about low ratings; why not show the whole show?
Put it on ESPN+ or Watch ESPN at the very least ....

Last year the College World Series website streamed it if I remember correctly. I know it was available to watch on their site.

After looking at the website, I don’t think they are streaming it. Maybe it will be available to watch tomorrow.

For an old country boy from LA (lower Arkansas) last nights opening ceremony was outstanding!  From the teams marching in to stadium Olympic style, to the parachute guys bringing in the flags, to the Team Captains (Casey Opitz for us) symbolically throwing dirt from their own fields at home plate, to Heston Kjerstad receiving the Team honor for highest overall GPA (3.6), to the Eli Young band, to the dad blamedest fireworks display these eyes have ever seen...just an awesome experience!! There is no doubt the folks here at Omaha go all out to make this trip a very special occasion for all these players, coaches, families and fans. First class all the way!!

For all those wondering, it can be watched on YouTube.

Eli Young Band was underwhelming to me. Maybe it was better in person.
