Just for an idea of how massive the levee break near Dardanelle is, look at what it has done to the river level overnight.

Hope everyone in that area stays safe today/tonight as the flood water spreads out.

Please keep the familyís of those affected in your thoughts. My familyís business is within a mile of the river and we are preparing for it to flood. Those that live past us on the harbor are already flooded. We have been at this location since 1976 and this will be the first time we have ever had to close.

Absolutely, My family was a victim of flooding back in the late 60's when I was a kid.  Just a  few feet of water in your house or business can be devastating.

Thoughts and prayers to all.

Water can be evil.

Until the money runs out? I donít mean that to sound flippant, but there are way too many variables to give an educated guess. Are they easily replaceable, whatís the timeline before revenue will start again, who will do the cleanup once the water drops, what kind of insurance do they have? I could go on, but you catch my point.

I canít imagine the losses. Iíve had well gearheads under water, but all we had to do is change the gear oil and go on. Prayers go out to all those who have suffered from this flood.

Yeah, that's my normal route home to Greenbrier from my office in Conway.  Hope your home is high and dry, man.  I know many in Wooster are going through a horrible time right now.

Yeah, it's that bad. I live just west of Pine Bluff and have seen pictures of the Riverside Drive - Island Harbor area where the tops of houses are barely above water. I'm told that the 5 lane highway in front of UAPB is flooded as well.

The US Corps of Engineers is in the process of building another levee beside the highway up to our shop and down Island Harbor. The water has not reached the highway.

BTW, my stressing out was all for nothing, the water did not reach our business and we are going to try to be ready to reopen by Monday.

Many businesses have insurance that covers lost revenue so that expenses can still be covered.

That insurance, what we have anyway, pays federal minimum wage per employee. Way less than what the guys get paid. Unless we have completely overlooked something, we wonít get lost revenue.

I was led to believe that it had breached the Highway north of the 79B Arkansas River bridge and in front of UAPB.

My parents live near Wright.  I took some video from my plane last Saturday (June 1) and put it on youtube.  The river rose at least another foot after the video.  Our farm is completely inundated and my parents had to evacuate.
