If you head about 60 miles south on I49,then 140 miles east on I40 you'll hit Little Rock.  Theres some good food there, better than the slop found in NWA.  Wherever you decide to eat at, tell them Rudy baylor sent you

What kind of food are you talking, and whereabouts?  Fayetteville vs. Rogers vs. Garfield are all going to have different answers.

Get your post count up to 50 and you will have access to the tavern.  You will catch a little crap there, too, but you'll get some actual answers and a little more viewership in that forum.

I did, 4 stars for McDonald's on Weddington seems a little low, so I was hoping to get some better solutions from the forums.

I moved away from NWA last summer, unfortunately, but if you're still looking for suggestions:

Hammontree's on West is great place for a sandwich.

Hugo's has an awesome blue cheese burger

Mojo's pints and pies was my favorite pizza place. They have 1/2 price pies one night of the week (maybe Wednesday?)

Lucky Luke's is a hole in the wall BBQ place that is pretty decent, but their wings are really good. They are also on special one night of the week.

Emelia's on Dickson is a good date night spot.

Southern Food Company has a great breakfast/brunch menu

Grubs downtown for cheese fries, JJ's for any other bar food. Pro-tip: the JJ's on Weddington is usually a lot less crowded.

Outside of Fayetteville:

There's a lot of chains along I49, obviously, but past that, AQ in Springdale is a classic. Mont Ne Inn is also a great place for a family style chicken dinner.

Mama Z's and Venetian Inn are both good Italian places.

If you're looking for good tacos or really any kind of authentic Mexican food, just drive down 71 through Springdale and stop at any one of the dozens of taquerias you'll drive past.

Hugo's has an awesome blue cheese burger

 Venetian Inn in Tontitown

I agree with both these choices.  Hugo's has the best burger in town, period plus their order of fries will feed a family of 4.

I haven't been to the Venetian Inn in a couple years but I really like the place.  Spaghetti is great, the steaks are as well and I always buy a dozen rolls to take home.  It has gotten a little pricey.

A lot better pizza in LR than in NWA.... As has been posted in the tavern, Hot N Ready Little Caesar's pizza better than the junk in NWA

For the most part, I get what you're saying here. I'd just as soon have Papa Johns than most of the pizza places in Fayetteville. BUT if you haven't had Mojo's, you're missing out.

Do you like Raduno's in LR?

Seriously true.  What IS the deal with pies in NWA.  Nobody there knows how to make a good pizza.  Its so bad that Twist is stalking some old man that has to work at a C-store making calzones just to afford rent.

NWA has only not been toothless hillbilly cousin bangers for 25-30 years.  It takes time to develop culture.  You canít just import it in from Dallas no matter how much you want to.  These arenít undergrads.

What are the pizza places in central AR that are so good? When I lived there in the 80ís US Pizza was about the only thing edible down there. We have one of those on Dickson St.

Up here in NWA Iíd put Guidoís, Joeís Italian on E 412 in Springdale, and Giraldiís in Fayetteville up against any pizza, anywhere. Giraldiís is pretty much like my favorite pizza in NYC.

I've never heard of this place.  Is it that floppy crust you always see the NY'ers eating?  I just googled this place and how in the world did  you come across it?

It's good. Down by Burger Plus. I haven't been down there for a few years. Is Burger Plus still open? Seems like I heard Wes was sick and maybe passed away? My brother worked for Wes many, many years ago.

It is thin crust Boar. You can fold it if you want, but I donít. My favorite is ordering their margarita pizza and add sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms. Their Hawaiian add jalapeŮos is another winner.

Not sure how I found the place, but Iíve been going there for years.

As Iíve gotten older, I donít like pizzas that have bready crusts. Too filling for me now. I even like their quirky atmosphere. It feels a lot like the 2-3 pizza places I go in NYC in addition to the pizza itself.

I didn't see Margarita on the menu.  Is it the white pizza?  We'll definitely try it.

They obviously donít have a web site, so I just looked at what you probably did. I honestly donít know if the white pizza is the margarita or not. It kinda looks like it, but it doesnít mention the tomatoes that I know come on it. I just always say margarita pizza add........

For clarification their Polynesian is what I earlier call Hawaiian.

Delivery was their deal back in the day. If they knew you, they'd deliver a number of things besides food. :)

His smoke shack burned down a few years back. He used to have some good hickory smoked ribs. I need to get down there and check things out.

You can still smell the smoke coming from somewhere!

Funny you say that about getting something besides food..... me and the Mrs have discussed the probabilities of that very thing.

Their portions are good sized too.  I would do carry out lasagna, salad, and bread and have some  (not a lot because I am fat) left over for the next days lunch.

Its probably been a year or so since I've been by, but you could still get a burger and fries for under 5 bucks, and it was still pretty decent.

Went there for lunch pretty much every day through high school.
