Playoff Positioning
« on: March 26, 2019, 03:11:19 pm »

How do you all see the West shaping up with two weeks to go? The playoff positioning in the West is getting interesting.

Golden State and Denver are jockeying for the #1 seed, but GS has a much easier schedule down the stretch and should hold onto it. Should make teams want to avoid the 4 & 5 seeds.

You'd think Houston looks to have essentially locked up the 3# seed with Nurkic going down for Portland and Portland's tough remaining schedule. Portland is up 2.5 games on the Jazz for the 4 seed. But losing their best big guy and having 4 games in which they are underdogs compared to 0 for the Jazz (according to 538,) may let the Jazz sneak up.

OKC, losers of 5 of their last 6, has dropped down to a tie for the 8 seed and could very well finish there with how well the Spurs and Clippers are playing. Spurs have won 10 of 12, Clips 10 of 11. OKC vs Golden State would be about as entertaining of a 1-8 matchup as you could hope for, as OKC matches up pretty well with George on Durant and Adams on Cousins. They have the 5th hardest schedule to finish the season, best case scenario for them now IMO is the 7 seed, as the Spurs have the league's easiest schedule to finish out.
