Transfer QB's breakdown

This is really a good breakdown of the 2 imo. I am not going to hide the fact that I am underwhelmed by the Hicks acquisition, as this article points out the same thing I saw he has not made any progression in 3 seasons, benefitted from targets that were above the level of competition. Does not protect the football, and has accuracy issues. I watched a lot of his games because I am a CFB junkie, live in DFW, and his H-back/TE for 2 seasons was a HS teammate of my son. Hicks is better than what we had, but not what we need. Starkel could be both, but not certain, I am more impressed/hopeful of his acquisition. I also haven't seen the arm strength limits that the article mentions but I have watched less of him.

I couldn't disagree with their analysis given that we don't know how either will perform under pressure but Starkel has seen more competition vs. SEC teams than Hicks has to date. That doesn't mean that he will out-perform Hicks on the field, but he might be more aware of the speed of the defense and timing with regard to throwing the ball.

Should be an interesting competition.

I like the competition for sure. Hicks know coaches system, so that's not a excuse anymore. The O line is the key. We get better there, we could see improvement.

It appears the team has an improved QB situation over last year.

It appears the team has improved in several position groups over last year.  I’m pleased with that and hope that’s a trend that sticks around for a long time. I just want to see continual improvement. So far, so good.
