I expect we should add on a few more to the power rankings as the SS, OF, Starting Pitching, and Relief Pitching categories are released.

While he hasn't proven it in the SEC, I think Ezell should be higher up on the list.  He has consistently been an excellent hitter at SEMO and there are plenty of questionable hitters in front of him.

I think Martin is probably a top 2-3 SS and Kjerstad and Fletcher might both be top 10 OF.  Campbell and Cronin should be on the top lists as well.  Could see Ramage / Kopps sneak on a list.

Casey Martin took the #1 spot.

I wanted to start looking at the SEC teams on these lists, so I added them in.  On paper through what has been released, Georgia is looking quite strong.  Off the top of my head I am not sure what they return OF and pitching, but its infield looks stout.

While LSU does have the best OF in college baseball, they have a JC transfer on the list at 1B, a freshman at 2B and a guy returning from injury at SS.  That is definitely head scratching to me they would include newcomers on this list.  Sure fall reports are encouraging, but at the same time, these guys have not proven it in D-1 ball yet.  I can understand having Smith on the list at SS, but not above Kessinger who is a solid returner.

Florida with 7 on the list is also a head scratcher.  The 3B they have on the list is a true freshman, the SS they have on the list hit a whopping .136 last year as a freshman (although he was a potential top 2 round pick out of high school), the 2B they have rated above Ezell hit .253 (compared to .377 for Ezell although in a much tougher conference), and the C they have on the list has a lot to prove as well.

It would be interesting to do a breakdown of something like total points where the #1 player is worth 30 points and the #30 player is worth 1 point.  For OF, it would be every 10 players for 3 points.  For example, Martin would be worth 30 points, Kjerstad would be worth 29/30, Fletcher would be worth 24/25 and Ezell would be worth 18.  I think we would fare extremely well in that breakdown.

SEC Position Players Composite Scoring:
Florida 114
Vanderbilt 110
Ole Miss 110
LSU 109
Arkansas 105
Auburn 73
Mississippi State 63
Georgia 51
South Carolina 47
Texas A&M 41
Missouri 27
Tennessee 24
Kentucky 13
Alabama 10

For the OF scoring, I did a 4-3-3-3 rotation until the bottom of the list when I switch it to 4 rankings per change in point.

Thank you for taking the time to put that together.  It is interesting to see as I think that shows true star power.

Crazy to think that LSU and Vandy can have people in the top 20 with ERAs of 4.40 or higher last year and Ramage can't even make the list.  I think he has to be one of the most notable oversights on the list.

Heck, even former Hog Bryce Bonnin is 40 on the list, but Ramage isn't good enough to be on there.  Although, Bonnin is getting a weekend start this weekend for Texas Tech.
