7-5 with possibility of 8-5 if we can beat one of Auburn or Kentucky. Kentucky losses a lot this year from a very successful team.

Seems reasonable.  I wouldnt be surprised with anything between 4-8 to 6-6.  Losing more than 8 games or winning more than 2 SEC games would surprise me tho.

Another tough season but hopefully we see promise as the year goes on.

5-7.

Could see us potentially beating Ole Miss or Missouri instead of Kentucky (think those are our best 3 chances, I expect UK to fall back off a bit), but I have the feeling we'll only get one out of those three.  Certainly hoping for better and a bowl game, but after 2-10 in 2018, I'm keeping my expectations down, just excited to see a lot of growth and see some new young talent.

Bama will be bama  that's a loss
aTm is building. That's a loss
ole ms, who knows.
Miss st lost alot of experience
Aubie needs a qb.
LSU is too strong for a very young hog team
Mizzou, might have Bryant but they lost alot.  Hogs are rolling by this point and hogs win.
Kaintuck is a toss up. Hogs have better young talent, kaintuck has been consistently better team.
I think hogs win out of conference games and beat 2 of ole ms,miss st or mizz

I mean, at some point just counting on beating Missouri will end up being correct I suppose. Not sure it will be in 2019.

I would say this is pretty much a fool's errand since no one even knows who the quarterbacks on campus will be or our full recruiting class yet.

No. If they win 2 sec games I would be shocked and excited

Absolutely no reason to lose a non-conference game next year.

I don't see any reason to suggest we will win any conference games next season...the only logical way to suggest that is to assume newcomers come in and change things for the better in a quick manner. That seems like a longshot.

I'll call 4 wins with us winning all the non-conference games. Beating Colorado State at home will be a major step forward for this program. Year 3 should have legitimate expectations to win 6 plus games.

4 gimme wins + 1 should be (Ole Miss) = 5-7 and no Bowl.
No “Full”; No “Boogie”; just a “Tilt”.

I think we will start either 4-0 or 3-1.  After that, I think we will win 2 (3 at most) with the wins coming from the A&M, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Western Kentucky and Missouri games.  I don’t see us having enough horses for Auburn, Alabama or LSU this year but we will be more competitive even in losses.  So, I figure 5-7 or maybe 6-6 are possible.  If we catch fire and someone else collapses, 7 wins is theoretically possible however improbable.

I completely failed last year.  Six wins and a possible bowl game win.......ha!  Oops.

Apparently I am officially a homer now - therefore I'll predict the same for 2019.

I may be a relentless pain-in-the-ass, but I can still be optimistic.

I have really no idea how good the non conference teams are, but I'd be surprised to see the Hogs go 4-0 because I never thought they'd lose to BOTH CS and NT this past season!

W     Aug. 31   Portland State
L      Sept. 7   at Ole Miss
W     Sept. 14   Colorado State
W     Sept. 21   San Jose State
L      Sept. 28   vs. Texas A&M
W     Oct. 12   at Kentucky
L      Oct. 19   Auburn
L      Oct. 26   at Alabama
W     Nov. 2   Mississippi State
W     Nov. 9   Western Kentucky
L      Nov. 23   at LSU
W     Nov. 30   Missouri

I would be inclined to pick a win against OM, but a conference game in week 2 on the road is a tough spot for a team who will be focused on improvement from the previous year. A&M will most likely be a game we're in again, but no cigar. I'm expecting KY to regress back to normalcy but if they don't then that's a loss. MS St. is the one game I feel very confident in winning. Losing at least 3 NFL players on D and Fitzgerald, plus what I think is a terrible coaching hire, MS St. will struggle big time next season.

Yes. This.

And if it turns out the teams gels and we jump on MSU or Mizzou or even Auburn, I'll take it.

I think the aTm game will be ugly as will LSU and Alabama.

Winnable games in bold. If everything goes really well (and it would have to), we COULD get to 7-5 this year...Hicks might be the difference maker, but it all hinges on the improvements that come up front on the offensive line.

Right now, my gut tells me we stumble around a few times and go 5-7 or 6-6.

Ole Miss will be terrible, as they are losing the 4 NFL bound players that were the only thing keeping them afloat the last two years. Arkansas should beat them and finish ahead of them

I'm curious what the thought process is that we stand a chance vs Mizzou? Are they not poised to have a huge year? Especially with the addition of Kelly Bryant...I don't see that as a potential win. More like middle of the road/big upset.

Rose colored glasses I can see Kentucky and Ole Miss.

Well, the game's in Little Rock this year, right?  Maybe we'll capture some of that old WMS magic and earn a bowl bid.  Lord knows we need the extra practice.

Absolutely playing the long game.  Morris's interview with Bo Mattingly the other day was great.  Chad knows that it's not an overnight turnaround, and it'll take some time.  The thing that struck me is when he was talking about solidifying the culture in year two, and my favorite quote: "we're building this to last."  He wants to build a program and culture where players will hold each other accountable and have standards and it doesn't fall apart if/when coaches leave (like it crumbled after the Petrino mess in 2012).

Building it the right way is a common theme among coaches.  Our previous coach subscribed to this very theme.

I think its very important for the Hogs to win 6 games this year and go to a bowl. It would show the team is headed in the right direction. Give us more practice time. Give us a better chance to have another good recruiting class. And give Coach Morris more time to build his team.
Less than 6, people will start to get restless.

We will be favored in every non conference game, we will be an underdog in every conference game.  Hopefully, we can steal one or two.
