Do you honestly think anyone would answer that question truthfully?

I did for the first time last night.  Seemed like easy money.  And I won.

Guess there are two sides to that. 1- youíd know a lot about them if you are a life long fan. 2- emotional betting will get you in trouble, whether itís emotions for having too much faith or too much doubt.

I like money too much to "bet" with it.

However, long experience has taught me Hogs will lose every time there is an SEC Title or national respect or "relevance" is on the line, at least since joining SEC.

Lone exception was quarter-century ago.

I bet against the Hogs at times. It's the team I know best therefore it can be easy to recognize a line that's off. It's been profitable in the long run.

Given how much you like money, and since you know we'll lose, going back a quarter century, sounds like an easy way for you to get a lot more money, if you'll put your money where your mouth is.

Or maybe you're just talking.

When it comes to basketball, I don't even THINK about the Hogs.

I couldn't tell you our lineup or our record if you pulled a gun on me.

And as you guys type "you are a bad fan, you don't care"........bite me.  As long as MA is there, we are what we are.

Yeah the line vs LSU made no sense to me.  Had the our hogs winning by 1...and I know that a margin of 3 will get you in trouble, but I was confident that LSU would win.  Hogs gave it their all though.

I never bet on my teams one way or the other.  But if I was forced to Iíd bet against them.  That way the Hogs will either win or Iíll win money.  Win/win situation

Only works that way if you aren't betting spreads and betting money lines in that scenario is a decent recipe for financial loss.

It would seem that you do think about the basketball team....considering you are posting on the basketball board. Not saying you are wrong about MA though

On occasion. Strangely, I was 0-2 betting against hogs in football.

Hate to say it but Iíve also done this, theyíre the teams I know best. Usually I know when weíre about to get a whippiní.

Fair enough, I reckon......venting more than anything.

I WANT to think about Hogball.  I miss being excited over every game.  I miss hearing on guys TV basically say that Arkansas is a team you don't wanna play, and BWA is a place you go to get the hell beat out of you.

But the reality is, it's been twenty years since that was the case and I'm getting older than my dreams of another Final Four.

I don't gamble, so the answer to the question is "no."

But if I did, I would certainly look for those instances where the line was off, and would be more likely to find it when I was well acquainted with one of the teams.   For example, any time the BB Hogs were a road favorite, I'd be tempted.
