If I was him, I'd so the same thing.  No big deal.  Good luck to him and having a great senior year!

I would too, if I had the option.  I love NWA, but if you're a football player, we don't have anything to compare to Highland Park in Dallas.

Good. I wouldn't expect him to do anything different. He's big time.

Yup.

Enjoy Texas while you can Morris family, the way I see it. Especially high school football.

You think he would leave a winning program where he just won a state title in Texas, to come play his senior year in Arkansas?..

Ok. And?

Well, I thought I would give anyone so inclined to voice their opinion of his decision.

But, since you asked, if I were him and had lived most of my young live in Texas, as a native Texan, and had the opportunity to lead a football program like Highland Park to a fourth straight state championship, I would take it.  Ok?

Good for Chandler.

Definitely not a troll attempt.  Nothing posted to bait anyone.  Young man made a declaration of his intent to stay in Dallas, which was printed in his local newspaper.

Nothing more than an attempt to bring the discussion to a close.  Couldn't be any more definite than coming from him.

Now, what about any of that could be labeled a troll attempt?

Would you rather the news not be posted on this board?

You're maybe a bit overly imaginative, I think.

If Arkansas doesn't register at least an 8-4 record this next football season, - - and if the knee-jerk "Fire Morris NOW!!!" hotheads prove to hold sway over a PR indictment initiative, - - - - the entire Morris family could conceivably wind up at someplace like Panhandle State or Yoohoo U.

Don't get your drawers in a wad.  I'm just blathering.  I know that Chandler is a very highly-sought-after premium blue chip QB who will likely have his pick from among a number of top-flight programs; - - and I fully expect to see Chad Morris silence the whining naysayers.

Well, Pulaski Academy did beat Highland Park a few years ago, ending H.P.'s 40 + game home winning streak, but you are right, overall highschool football in Arkansas doesn't hold a candle to Texas highschool football. The talent level and number of superb programs in Texas is on a whole other level, not just compared to Arkansas, but any other state as well.

Here at the end is CCM talking about how his family being in Dallas was necessary for him to be able to get the program back on track -- LOL. Also shares Chandler's thoughts on playing at HP, etc., which are more reasonable.

It is a big deal as a parent.  Your kids are only young once and his dad will have missed his last two years of high school.  Watching him grow and mature as a youngster.  Time you can’t get back, no rewind button, no do overs.  One day I guarantee you Chad will regret it.

THAT is what I kept saying- He is MORE focused on teh Hogs with his family in another State, and, him being in north Texas almost every week is GREAT for recruiting, too.

I prefer the term perceptive, but to each his own.

Perceptiveness is a good trait to have.  Defined as: having or showing keenness of insight, understanding, or intuition.

Paranoia, on the other hand is not.  Defined as: a tendency on the part of an individual or group toward excessive or irrational suspiciousness and distrustfulness of others.

But as you say, to each his own.

Not knowing Chad, I'm not sure how he will deal with the absence.

I can say that I know one parent, really well, who missed the entire high school experience of his youngest daughter.  And that parent 30 years later still grieves the decision.

The best decision for the kid isn't always the best for the parent.

As a kid who had to go to 3 different high schools in 3 different cities in 3 years - I can't explain how bad that sucks.

I only wish one of my parents had stayed behind and let me finish high school with the friends I grew up with.

It doesn't matter where it is, and whether football is involved or not. If a kid has spent the last few years building his place on a team, has a girlfriend and or wants to graduate with his friends()And Money Is No Object) do what you want kid. My brother in law is letting his son live with us because he recently got married and moved two counties away. His son is 16 and wants to graduate with his friends.

My boys were in 8th grade and 11th grade when I moved them to Conway from IL for one year.  We did move back so they both graduated where they grew up.

That one year at Conway was brutal for them.  Would not do it again, though my oldest met great friends he still has.

I disagree. I think CCM would regret making Chandler move to Fayetteville, when he told him he wanted to stay in a Dallas and finish there. You only get that experience once in life so let the young man have his wish.

You don't disrupt a kids life and have him move late in high school if at all possible. Great choice by CCM and Chandler. He is having a great time winning in TX and his father is trying his best to get our situation straightened out here.

It's not like they are 15 hours apart or something - 4.5 hours is nothing (and that's driving) - get real people. He did the best thing possibly given the circumstances.

Agree. This is what Chandler himself wanted. Chad still was able to see all 4 playoff games, without disrupting his sons career and accomplishments that he had worked his whole life to achieve...

I went to a high school that had a ton of transfers in and out. It can happen where the military is the prominent industry. I bet I had at least a 50% turnover in friends both leaving and coming in. Also with divorce rates being so high now having a parent live far away is not that uncommon though.
