How in the world did Manny Diaz pull this off? I wonder if Hurts will follow Enos there

Odd. Wonder if he knows something about Sabanís plans to retire.

He was going to be the Bama OC, which is one of the fastest tracks to a good HC job in the country.

Wow...he gave up being the OC at Bama for the OC at Miami.  So, was this move based on:

1 - cities of Miami vs Tuscaloosa (Mrs Enos may have had a vote in this)
2 - working for Diaz vs Saban
3 - SEC vs ACC
4 - Saban changed his mind about hiring him as OC
5 - $$$

I'm guessing #2, with a little of #1 thrown in.

Regardless, I'm an Enos fan and hope he does well.  And because of that, I'm glad he won't be at Bama.

None of the assistant coaches do. You've seen how Saban reacts on the sideline - can you imagine how he treats those guys behind closed doors?

I donít buy this narrative. The people that work for him get to learn from the best to ever do it and then most of them get HC jobs. Why else would so many former HCs go there as assistants to redeem their careers?

It's a necessary evil to jump back on the carousel but make no mistake, the man is a snake.

I've worked for Hollywood execs who have similar temperaments and the work environments people like that create are so extremely toxic but people do it, because it's a necessary evil.

I had a hard time watching "Devil wears Prada", with my wife, because it brought up ptsd.

I don't think he is as good as some on here believe him to be but he wasn't the active OC during the title game so you can't put that on him.

Maybe he didn't like the work environment?

Probably closer to the truth than some want to admit.  Remember Sabin tearing into Kiffin on the sideline and then carried that into the PC where he was asked about their conversation and his reply was that was not a conversation but an ass chewing?  John Thompson was he DC at LSU for about 2-3 months and said screw that because Sabin was a jerk.

I agree with go rogues and TexHog188 that has to be a miserable work environment.

I think Bama did themselves a disservice by beating people so hard all year. Tua never faced being knocked down. He never had guys in his face. He never played 4 quarters and when push came to shove, he just wasn't ready. I think the OC has some blame in not being ready for that, but I think there was a weird circumstance as well.

I was surprised at how happy I was to see bama eat crap on the big stage. But, their program isn't over.

Coaches, at least the top coaches, make millions of dollars and are willing to put up with a lot of dung to make the right contacts, get the experience, and in the case of BAMA, redeem their careers.  Saban is a taskmaster and perfectionist and that's fine as he's the GOAT; however, not everyone, particularly a grown man likes to be yelled at and belittled like a child, in private much less on national TV.  For all we know Saban told the OC and QB coach to hit the road after getting stoned by Venables defense.  In the end it doesn't matter.  Miami is a good situation for Enos to make immediate gains, particularly if Hurts comes with him.  Don't know anything about Diaz and his personality so can't really say if that's a factor or not.

Wish him well, but I remember games we played under BB where we were badly managed on O. Maybe that was BB, but it didn't make Enos look good.

I've heard for years that when Saban left Michy St for LSWho that he asked the staff to meet him at the airport if they wanted to go and none went. Possible urban legend. No idea.

Enos wasnít in charge of the O. Locksley still was. Go back and look at the play calling and youíll know Enos wasnít the one calling them. I do agree that a lot of it probably had to do with a perceived better work environment. The word is Nick is a @$*)-# to work for. Yes some coaches have gone there to rehabilitate their careers. They know Nick had players and was going to win and knew they wouldnít have to be there forever.

Did I say he was in charge? The offensive staff did not do their jobs against Clemson and he was a main cog on that staff. After that game you don't promote him to OC
