The Perfect Story
« on: January 09, 2019, 10:46:57 pm »

I want so badly for Mike to succeed. I didn’t get to see it, but I grew up listening to my parents and grandparents telling me the stories of Nolan Richardson and his 40 minutes of hell. As a kid, Nolan Richardson had become this mythological type person to me.

So 8 years ago when the news broke that we got Mike back, the romantic in me was overjoyed. Who better to lead the Razorbacks back to the top than Nolan’s protégée? It was the beginning to the perfect story. But 8 years later and here we are. A few NCAAT appearances. A lot of big time wins and big time moments. Back to back SEC Ship appearances. But no sweet 16. And now in this 2018-19 season the wheels on this team are mighty wobbly.

I hope he is able to turn this season around as he has done a number of times over the last 8 years. I hope is somehow able to bring us back. But the flame of this perfect story is beginning to burn out.
