Can confirm that Arkansas WR Jarrod Barnes has asked for his release and is leaving the program. He hasn't yet decided on his next stop. Wish him the best. #HawgSports

May be more receivers leaving with all the incoming freshman looking to play immediately.

Hate that but...
He’ll always hold a special place in my heart for the excellent b-ball championship game he played against the guy from Bentonville

Dang, was hoping he'd be able to contribute down the line. Remember him hurdling people in his HS videos.

He didn't play this year for the Hogs. Would he be eligible to play immediately at another D1 school?  That would be great for him because he has the skills to play.

If he transfers down a classification, he'd be eligible. Only grad transfers are immediately eligible, unless  they petition the NCAA with extenuating circumstances.

Dang.  I was hoping he would make it.  But, there is another scholarship that we need and an opportunity to him to actually see the field somewhere else, so I guess it’s a win-win.

Did he ever look at playing cornerback? Thought with his talent/speed he might be decent back there. Really had high hopes for him

He can redshirt this season and play next year, correct?

I won't post my full thoughts on the kid, but ill just say losing any WR off this team is not a concern.

Only if he's graduated. He can go to a FCS school(UCA), and he eligible to play next year.

coming out of High School he was 5'10 or 11 or less and 167.
That's not  good size for todays corners.

Always thought he was too small. Dude was a total jitterbug, but may have not had the most top end speed, but just really quick twitch.
