Slightly confident with the uncertainty of Storey. Their QB is not good. I think his completion percentage is under 40% over the last couple games. I think he’s the backup, as their starter was injured at some point earlier in the season. They have a decent RB. I just hope we load the box and make them try to beat us with the passing game.

Boyd + steamboat = 45%

No Boyd, Ty, and Steamboat starting = 1%

The last three losses to Tulsa all came in JFB's time and all came as true surprises, most especially 1971.  At least since the 1950's there has not been a case like the current year where TU is thought to have a real potential to win.

I was in the stands as a student the last time Arkansas lost to Tulsa.  In those days the visitors and the students were seated next to each other and the most excitement that day was the big fight that broke out a few rows above me that day.

As I recall an ex-Razorback PK kicked three FG's to the Hog's one FG and I'm convinced that day was the day Arkansas' coach decided to retire himself.

Given the emotional swings of the last few weeks and the injury situation It's extremely unlikely this team isn't looking over its shoulder even if they got up 20-0 at the half like the much, much better '71 team did.

I’m pretty confident but that doesn’t mean anything. Tulsa doesn’t throw it very well ( ranks 114th ) or stop the run ( 105th ). As long as we don’t go out and throw picks or put it on the ground we should win.

50/50 chance. Would have to be a homer to think this game is an automatic win...no evidence to support that.

I do think this is a game we can win though if everything goes right. Have to limit mistakes and play good special teams.

Their starter was garbage. Guy was a turnover machine.

I'll throw my 2 cents in here and say we win and by double digits (If we have Boyd healthy all game). I was really excited to have him commited to us after I saw Last Chance U and he's starting to run like he did later on in that season.

Confident that we will play Tulsa.  Anything beyond that has proven to be a crapshoot.

Losing 2 in the 4th quarter, getting blown out by UNT, then playing pretty decent vs. A&M and Bama only to blow a 9 point 4th quarter lead to Ole Miss... sheer rollercoaster of pain followed by disappointment served up with a healthy portion of WTH.

Tulsa has had close games just like Arkansas.  But based on Chavis conference earlier, I think his Defense wants to go out and really, really play the best game they are capable of playing for Coach and see if they can't create some havoc for Tulsa, big time.  I don't think if I were Tulsa I would look forward to playing this Defense right now.  I think they will come out p'd off and I think they may have their best game of the year.  We will see if that's enough.

I was at a 9 vs. Ole Miss. Then I knew it was over when Boyd, Whaley, and Storey went down. Went from 9-0 real quick. In this game, I'm a 6 if Storey and Boyd play. I'm a 2 if they don't....

If Arkansas plays a full game just like they did the 1st half against Ole Miss...it's a win.  If they play a full game like the 2nd half against Ole Miss...it's a loss.

I don't know how any of us can have confidence in a 1 win team at this point. I have hope we show up and play well on both sides of the ball. Anything less than that I believe we will do what we have done to this point...find a way to lose. Tulsa has played well against the better teams on their schedule. There are no easy games for the hogs this year

As far as strengths and weaknesses go this is our best match up all year.  We have superior talent but that didn’t mean anything in the early games.  But they are a poor passing team—our weakness.  They rely on the run—stopping it is our strength.

They are poor at stopping the run—our strength.

As long as Storey and Boyd are healthy we should be fine.  If Storey doesn’t play it will come down to how well a very young freshman does in reading the defense and protecting the ball.  That could be our biggest risk of losing.

You probably meant that as sarcasm but I honestly believe there is some truth in that. If we are leading going into the fourth I expect we will begin trying to eat time off the clock much like CBB did for five years and we did this year against CSU and Ole Miss. If Tulsa is leading we will as least keep our offense in a game plan that gives us a chance.

Not very confidant.  Team is (understandably) physically and emotionally spent after their last 6 losses.  Offense should be missing it’s starting QB for concussion protocol.  He was “knocked out.”  I think we are foolish to believe he’s playing against Tulsa.  Coaching staff will most likely not start/play the most mobile QB back-up.  Defense still cannot execute the fundamentals of tackling or defending a simple slant pass.  We are still installing new schemes in all three phases of our program.  Etc . . .

Tulsa is not a “slouch” opponent.  I expect a loss to a similar style of play of North Texas.  Not gonna keep me from driving down from north of KC to cheer on my Hogs though.  Even through these losses it has been amazing to watch the growth/improvement in our team.  We are getting better!  GHG!  WPS!

Confident but if there is a way to lose this game, we will find it.
We have been good at stopping a conventional running game. This tulsa team cannot throw the ball like our previous opponents.  If we have a healthy offense, we should get our first win in an eternity. My only worry is this team/program is so downtrodden and their confidence may not be all that high at this point.

Tulsa is a team that was down to UCA, yes the one in Conway, in the 4th Quarter.  UCA is their only win.  One of their losses was to Arkansas State.  Losing to Tulsa would mean this team has regressed back to the point of Colorado State / UNT.

I worry about them being physically and emotionally spent as you say.  We have played a VERY tough stretch of games - AU, A&M, Bama, and OM.  I think the OM game hurt our psyche more than we want to admit because we had them beat before the injuries.   A tough pill to swallow can get in the heads of some in the locker room.  I just hope the players focus on the positives from OM before we lost our 3 best players of that game.  The HOPE of winning a game since Tulsa isn't high caliber should motivate these guys.   We don't have the talent to show up and win against anyone.

I'm concerned but it is obvious the team has been practicing with Connor and Cole.   CCM has been dancing around the issue with hints that he is approved to practice, day to day, yet not approved to PLAY.   Ty looks good but he can't sustain another shot to the head for a while.

Concussions don't clear up in a day or 2 so you make sense.  I hope Connor has been improving by getting the increased reps in practice since before OM.  I suspect that Connor is going to do much better behind this Oline than the matador Oline against UNT.  I'm concerned and worried but it is obvious the team has been practicing with Connor and Cole.

What makes sense for them, IMO, to do is start Connor and continue to use Cole in the grave digger packages. Guess we will see.

I completely agree.  The team may rally to the cause and play better?   The improving Oline may step it up even more?  I doubt Tulsa can take O'Grady and Cantrell out like OM did.  Mike Woods, Warren, Stewart need to show out to give the QB quick releases.  Will Pettway play like Tarzan instead of Jane?  Can our WRs that are perfect for C-USA thrive in this game without physical press coverage from SEC Corners.

Re: How confident are you in Arkansas' chances vs Tulsa?

I completely agree.  The team may rally to the cause and play better?   The improving Oline may step it up even more?  I doubt Tulsa can take O'Grady and Cantrell out like OM did.  Mike Woods, Warren, Stewart need to show out to give the QB quick releases.  Will Pettway play like Tarzan instead of Jane?  Can our WRs that are perfect for C-USA thrive in this game without physical press coverage from SEC Corners.

Pettway physically looked like a legit SEC receiver last Saturday. Wonder what the story is there.
