Thanks for posting. +1

But doesn't fit the national narrative right now, so things like this will be ignored by the media. Lol

it is not in dispute the sec dominance over the run of national championship wins. There is however an erosion of that dominance over the last two years. A trend that is likely to continue. Last year the sec lost both of its BCS bowls. This year all if its top teams lost in their bowl games, save Mizzou besting a 5 loss Minnesota. That's best against best the last two years with the sec coming out on the losing end. This year is the first time since 2005 an sec team will not play for the national championship. That is an impressive fact. That's 8 years playing for the championship winning 7. I'm sure that will never be duplicated by any conference. The trend however is the sec losing in big time bowl games. That is also a fact that is not in dispute.

why is it "likely to continue?"  i would say its just as likely to reverse.

alabama is eventually going to go back to their roots.
florida will not always suck like they did with muschamp.
tennessee is back on the rise.
LSU still has some of the best players, they just got caught without a QB.
with A&M being the only texas school in the SEC, i imagine their recruiting will be top notch.
arkansas is on the rise.

It would be almost impossible for the SEC to duplicate the success its had....because that success was so dominate.

But consider this...right now, Arkansas would have the 3rd highest ranked recruiting class if it played in the B1G.   But in the SEC Arkansas is only ranked 10th.

There is a huge gap in talent between the two conferences.

Except for Ohio State.  Ohio State has had three straight Top Five recruiting classes...which is why they are playing for a National Title.

Even though we're 6-5, this is a championship level conference.

I dont think anyone out there is forgetting  the past decade due to 1 bad bowl year.  The rest of the country is sick  of all the SEC talk and dominance and being told that their teams and conferences cant and dont play SEC football.  Let them have their moment in the sun.

7-5

...and as "down" as the SEC supposedly is now, we've still finished higher in bowl winning % than the Big 10.

Higher than the Big 10, Big 12, and ACC.

We are behind the PAC but the SECs bowl schedule was much tougher.   4 out of 5 SEC losses were to Conference Champions or Division Champions.

Lets not forget that Auburn was a 4-4 SEC team.  They lost in OT to a 7-1 Wisconsin team.

Ole Miss was 5-3 in the SEC and lost to a Conference Champion, TCU.  Does anyone seriously believe that any PAC school (save Oregon) would have beaten the Horned Frogs.  I don't.

By the way, Florida won, so the SEC is now 58-32.
