LSU was completely shutdown tonight in a 3-1 loss vs Northwestern St. NSU used a long reliever who went 7 2/3 and held them to 1 run on 5 hits. I know KSU didnít use their weekend guys on the mound. Neither did Northwestern St.

lmao I'm glad their cajun voodoo ran out for once. I'm sure it'll recharge by the time they play us.

Meant LSU not KSU. This same squad led LSU in the 9th inning last year at regional at Oregon St.

Exactly... seems like they always start off slow, but never fails that they play lights out against us. Wish we could get them earlier on in the SEC schedule for once.

They are currently last in ERA in the SEC.  Also, I think they have maybe 1 LHP on their roster.  That's kind of odd. Maybe that will help the Hogs this year. The Hogs don't play them until May so by that time they will be playing like the 98 Yankees.

Count on it. The week before they roll in here LSU will suddenly garner a 1.00 ERA and a .400 team BA ... happens every time.

Northwestern la weekend guys gave up 26 weekend runs in three games versus my home town Abilene Christian U.

When I was living in Thibodaux, LA in 2004 into 2005. My girlfriend whom I was living with was a graduate of LSU and taught 12th grade English and her family of 5 sisters and 2 brothers, all but 2 graduated from LSU. My God, it was pure D hell. Until. Courtney and I drove in to Baton Rouge and spent the weekend with her sister Piper to watch, as Courtney put it, "the annual slaughter of the Hogs". That was a magical year for the Pigs, we went on to sweep LSU at Baton Rouge and I saw every game. The drive back to Thibodaux was a quiet one and boy did I enjoy the silence.

Back in those days I didn't keep up with baseball much, but after winning 3 from the Purple Tigers made me a Diamond Hog baseball fan. I think those days LSU was suffering because their great coach Skip Bertman had retired and some guy named Smoke was the LSU coach. The Tigers didn't get their mojo back until they hired Paul "I've got an excuse for every loss" Manieri.

Best thing about South Louisiana:  gotta be the food, its difficult to find something that isn't good
Worst thing about S Louisiana: The mosquitos that come out in packs of thousands as soon as the Sun goes over the horizon

April 8, 9, and 10, 2011 -- a three-game sweep at Baum.

That means LSU has taken seven straight series from us.  They've also taken 6 of 7 games from us at the SEC tournament in that same span.

Several of those games they literally need a miracle and somehow found a way to win.

Similar to how Texas would mount comebacks.  Kinda gets to be expected.

This Red Army has the weapons to sweep the unwashed from Mississippi and southern Louisiana

Northwestern State is where many great coaches have started.  Jim Wells who coached at Alabama, and none other than Dave Van Horn.

I believe that DVH is 2-13 in series play against LSU. They are our Texas in baseball. Even our good teams canít seem to beat them.

Shouldíve beat them at Baum in 2017. Beat them Friday night, then blew a 9-2 lead going into the 8th on Saturday then lost on Sunday 2-0 to lose the series. Frustrating.

Yes was just going to post this. I have never seen a coach have another coach's number as much as PM does DVH. They're good friends and you know it just drives DVH to no end. I remember last year DVH sharing that PM told him "y'all will win the national championship this year" in the post-game handshake after taking the series from us (Cronin, Shaddy may have been out for that series or something IIRC).

Currently tied 1-1 at home playing Kentucky. Kentucky walked 3 straight batters to walk in the run that tied it up. In the 9th now.

Damn opossum.

My son was at that game and was heckled by some LSU fans until he moved to new seats.

He was also at the game to see Northwestern St beat them and loved every minute of it.  Lol.
