weekend of chalk
« on: March 04, 2019, 08:08:00 am »

What an awful weekend to play exoctics. I was close to a nice Pick 5 Saturday.  Had the 2nd place horse on my ticket also in Race 6.  That would have bumped it a good bit.  Had both the 3 & 8 in Race 9 that got split by the 1. That pissed me off.  The 3 was an $80 DD with Amy Challenge winning the the 8.  That would have made my ticket a very nice payout. Instead I got back $111.  sigh

I hit the late pick 4 yesterday. Had a single in the 6th, 2 in the 7th, 3 in the 8th and All 9 horses in the 9th. Returned close to 380 but it was nice rooting for LS in the last race knowing you can’t lose. Thank goodness for Operation Stevie or it wouldn’t have paid 100.

Amazing what a price horse can do int he last leg.  The one I hit for 7832 the favorite paid like $350.

A couple Thursdays ago I hit for $1792 the favorite pad less than $200.  Just takes one big price to make it pay nicely.

Saturday I had the 8 in the 4th but not the 5? in the 3rd.

I hit 4 triples, 2 supers, and 5 exactas Saturday and lost a $100 lol. Of course I only bet minimums mostly. 2 shots came in Saturday that looked like they had no business in the race over 25-1 don't think any other winners were above 5-1.

It both pick 4 on Friday and broke even.  I said early pick 4 could pay 1k and it paid $100.  Beats losing all together but damn.

BTW that is why I like throwing in a $100 show ticket when I see a race that could pay well. It covers my other bets.  Easy to get 45 show return at Oaklawn..
