Looks like the Hogs may be the early favorite to land this guy. Big, strong qb from California.

Yes. And King was just rated the #1 qb in Texas in the latest evals. This staff is very good at identifying skill players and getting on them early.

Edit: Itís not showing on those ratings but I did read that he was #1 according to some.

For those unaware King wore a Razorback wrist band during games last year

Can you imagine having the #2 ranked dual threat and the #6 pro style in the same class. Yep, itíll be very interesting to see how it plays out. Chandler Morris is no slouch either.

Not a doubt in my mind. I had plenty of time on my hands one day this week and created an excel spreadsheet of every 2020 Arkansas offer to keep track of them. The ones that are committed right now elsewhere, they are not to non Power 5 schools anymore. We are competing against the big boys now. It would be amazing to land some of these cats, but just being in the same conversation recruiting wise for uncommitted prospects against Texas, Florida, LSU, USC, Oregon, Ohio State, etc. is a huge step forward.

You can find it on 247's website by looking at the Top247 (not composite) Texas Player Rankings.  It doesn't list by position, but he is the #7 player in Texas and first QB on the list.

4.5 laser timed forty is crazy fast. That's Marcus Mariota/Russell Wilson speed.

I just rewatched his highlights. Kid is very accurate. Had a throw or 2 that was a step behind his reciever but very accurate either way. Made some tough throws. Throws on the run well. Has kind of a funky throwing motion, but can throw it with multiple release points. Threw off his back foot a few times, and you could see it took some zip off his balls. When he does set his feet he has good zip. Not the biggest arm, but accurate. He would have to get bigger when he got here to sustain hits in this league though.  Kid is very fast, and has good balance when running.

King or illingsworth would both be great. 2 different style of guys, but both could excel here. I am not sure who i want more. Texas QBs dominate starting NFL qbs, but i believe cali has quite a few starters as well.

Everyone's ideal is a Dual that throws like a Pro.

Unfortunately those are rare.

I would be extremely happy with any one of our three top targets. There are lots and lots of examples of QBs who didn't have NFL measurables, who were successful, some dominant, in college. if Chandler is even close to 6', he could be a real prize. This staff appears to be putting the work in, and then some. WPS!

Illingworth (4*. #6) , King (4*, #2) sign, then Morris (3*, #16) walks on. LOADED.

If we get Illingworth and King then I see Morris going somewhere else where he has a better chance of playing.  If he were to come to Arkansas along with players like those then if he turned out to be the starter he has to be a big winner to overcome the 'coaches son' can of worms.  For him and his dad it is more trouble than it is worth.

He is listed as 6' 0", which translates to about 5' 10.5" in real life.  That is not an NFL QB, so the kid's logical future is in coaching.  He has a more credible coaching resume after being a 2 year starter at SMU or Texas State than being a bench warmer at Arkansas.  Then he can become an assistant coach for his dad or for one of his dad's buddies at another school and work his way up the food chain in the coming years.

TLDR:  Chandler Morris will probably go to another school if Arkansas gets two higher ranked big time QBs.  And that is a good decision for all involved.

I just cant see Arkansas getting King and Illingworth, or any school for that matter. Why would 2 highly ranked QBs go to the same school in the same class? I think it will be King or Illingworth first, with Morris being the 2nd Qb taken

Quarterback free agency is a thing in college now. Donít think it matters if 2 or 3 QBs come in at the same time. The ones that get beaten out will use the transfer portal and file for a waiver at the new school.

I do believe we will get Chandler Morris and one of Shane or Haynes.
