Saquon Barkley

What's the NFL record for stupid plays in the last ten minutes of a game?

He's EXTREMELY lucky that the ball touched the goal line when he idiotically stuck it out with one hand before the Cowboys knocked it loose.  That's one.  He got away with it, but that's one.

Next came the one that lost the game.  It's second and 6 INCHES near the Dallas 10 yard line.  Giants up by four, Cowboys have two timeouts left.  A first down and Dallas uses their second.  Next play takes it to the two minute warning.  Second down play and the Cowboys use their last timeout.  Third down play...Dallas can't stop the clock.  Even if the Giants don't get a first down or TD they kick the field goal with a little over a minute left.

So...run the damn ball into the middle and get the first down.  Don't do what Barkley did, juking and jiving and eventually stretching to the sideline... getting a crushing holding penalty in the process.

Even if they hadn't gotten the penalty he ran out of bounds.  How do you run out of bounds and stop the clock in that situation?

Situational awareness.  He apparently has none.

Dak wouldn't have won it if the Giants had run out the clock.  In that situation you don't need to try to break every play for a TD.  You need to get the gimme first down because a four point win is still...a win.

It almost never fails that when you throw away a chance to close out a game and win it right then and there...you lose.
