I really don't think there's a whole lot that needs to be said.

Question: What could Coach Beard do with this roster next year?

Probably go undefeated at the least.  Maybe even better.

I would love to see Beard on Arkansas Bench next year but I am not all  sure the way he coaches all of our players would buy in to the schemes he uses.  Very physical defense and lots of picks on offense.   He actually runs some plays for his shooters.  Go figure.

I think Mike Anderson also won a couple tournament games once.

Just because Beard was at UALR doesn't mean he would have any interest in coaching at Arkansas.

He has roots in Lubbock and from every thing you read he's where he wants to be.
Plus - in basketball why would a coach who's built a successful program in the Big 12 leave for the SEC.

Chris Beard in 3rd year @TT ranked 12th. Rick Barnes in 3rd year @Tenner ranked 3rd. Bruce Perl in 3rd year ranked 7th. Mile Anderson 8th year still rebuilding. Nuff said time to move on. There are really no explanations to this other than MA cannot get it done. If AD doesn't make a change at year end he was a big mistake hire as well

When some schools want a coach, they pull up in his yard with a truck load of money, and all of a sudden, he is willing to listen. It seems that we could afford it since we are one of the money makingest schools in America according to Forbes. We never seem to be aggressive enough.

We prefer to pull up with a truckload of money to the yard of the coaches we fire not hire.

Chris Beard will make this team play defense and rebound or you will not play.
His offensive attack varies with some kick outs for the three but he likes to pound it inside.
First and foremost he makes sure the defense is sound.   He is lacking one thing this year from
getting deep in the dance and that's a point guard.  He is void of this position.

It was also fun watching both Coach K and Coach Beard getting frustrated with their teams.  Both
disciples of the crazy man ya'll call Bobby Knight.  And from different eras.  Still his same fundamentals.

Me thinks you are confused with an X Arkansas player vs an ex UALR coach doing very well at ttech

We would be undefeated under Beard. This was supposed to be a down year for Tech and he has an elite team again.

I think it would be a big coup if Coach Anderson could get Beard to join him on the bench as an assistant.

Would be big if he could pick up Lon Kruger while he's at it.

I would have liked to have had either over Mike. But donít get me wrong Mike is a nice guy and decent coach. However heís inexplicably had a worse winning percentage at Arkansas than both of his prior jobs. I would hope we can have another great coach like we had a couple of times in my lifetime.

Bruce Peal was actually 18-14 his 3rd year, unranked, no post season tournaments.

What will the logic be when Mike beats Beard in Lubbock on 1/26?

I would be very surprised. But I'll still be rooting on the Hogs and hoping. When's the last time MA and the Hogs won a road game against a highly ranked team? What have been the big-time wins over the last 5 years?

I will be at that game! Rooting for the Hogs and sitting amongst a group of TTech fans. One of the few times it is to my advantage to live in west central Texas.

Mike has a prior relationship for many years. So if he had not had that he might have stayed at Mizzou.

The man is Dana Altmanís twin. He took the UNLV job and never coached a game there in order to go to Tech. Tech better be his love interest after screwing over another program like that.

A lot of people forget he did that. He did UNLV dirty, used them like a cheap whore. I mean, that happens a lot in Vegas but not to a once-proud program under Tarkanian and even Kruger in more recent memory.
