Looking into A&M's recruiting class

Damon Sayles: Sumlin believes there are athletes everywhere, but if you aren't taking care of home, someone else will. The one advantage that A&M has over the other Texas schools is that he can tell recruits they will play in the SEC, a conference that is accustomed to winning national championships. As for the other parts of the country, he's definitely increasing his efforts and working toward picking up more recruits in Georgia, Florida and even South Carolina. For the time being, Sumlin knows there's a ton of talent in Texas. Why not take advantage?

Three receivers committed to MSU in the 2013 class are 6-foot-3 or taller, according to Rivals.com.

Only one receiver on MSU's roster this season - Joe Morrow - falls in that category.

I know Walker and his family well.  Our youngest is in Walker's class at ECS (which is in Cordova, not Germantown).  He's good and versatile, but they'll have to put some more size on him before he'll see the field at 'Bama.  If he's 240 lb. right now, then I run a 4.3 40 yd dash.  He's probably more like 220.

Zann Melton said when two former Auburn players and one current player were shot at an Auburn apartment complex in June, some schools tried to lure Kamryn away from the Tigers by using that incident.

AP: Ole Miss searching for SEC-caliber players

--- Quote ---The Ole Miss football roster is in various stages of disarray after two disastrous seasons. Freeze is confident he can rebuild the team's depth after a few years of recruiting thanks to his connections around the region, but that's not going to help this season.

So the past two weeks have been spent looking for the current players who can meet the demands of playing in the Southeastern Conference.

Some days the search goes better than others.
