Man that was great. Candid and insightful. Thank you, Mike!

Yeah. I'd definitely buy a book if Mike ever wrote one. I'd say that would be a Must Read for any Razorbacks fan.

It was pretty bad last year. First year or not, you dont get beat 5 touchdowns at home to a midmajor as an SEC team, or choke a game away to a 3-9 midmajor. That's unacceptable and can draw a major red flag. No better that it was Arkansas' worst year in history, which says a whole lot.

That said, he has shown upward improvement as a coach at SMU albeit kinda slow. I think he will start getting it going. It just won't be as soon as people are thinking. This year is likely going to be another dud as well but more improved. But let him get his players and his experience in first and we will definitely see a more respectable team in 2020.

This is pure, unsupported supposition and conjecture; - - but I am heavily inclined to believe that a revamped player roster with a refocused dedication and commitment to doing whatever it takes to succeed will produce 6 or 7 wins this season.  Many of our newly-acquired players are quite young, so multiple flubs in crucial game situations might well cost us a game or two. Conversely, however, individual flashes of brilliance and stellar performances by key players might tip the balance in our favor in a game or two that we aren't picked by the pundits to win.

I believe that we will witness a vast improvement over last year, due to a number of upgraded factors.     WPS!!!      ;D

Anderson was fired too. So maybe not a great example for your point.
Sure it is, he never said anything of the like in the 8 years Anderson was here winning 62% of all games and 55% of his conference games. In 8 years can you show me a single time he said anything of the sort.

Fisher is so overrated.  He has been running his mouth lately, and in one instance of him running his mouth he gave serious bulletin board material to Clemson.

Fisher will soon find out that Venables probably has a faster Clemson defense this season than he had last season, and this season may be the best Secondary Venables has had at Clemson.
Just a curious question. How is a coach with 5 straight BCS/NY6 appearances, 3 BCS/NY6 wins, a playoff appearance, and national title overrated? I'm not understanding. Just in his 1st year, TAMU finished 2nd in the SEC West for the first time, has a Top 5 recruiting class for the first time in history, and was a freak touchback away from beating Clemson.

seems to only run as fast as he has to... or he has the matt Jones faster than it looks speed.. lol... their were some games where it looked like the other guys had the angle on him and he just flies by them. I saw him catch the bubble screen in the practice video today and he looked to be moving very well after the catch.
Yeah, this contrast between DMac and Treylon caused the following exchange between me and another old Hog fan the other day. We were both excited about having this young man on the team, and both looking forward to seeing him perform. The other man is the grandfather of a kid that played against Treylon. He told me that DMac was like a bolt of lightning, and Treylon was like a bad hail storm. Either one of 'em was bad news for whoever had to take 'em on.

He said, "They couldn't catch DMac, and he had one of the best stiff arms in the game for anybody that had the angle on him. They might catch Treylon a time or two, but they'll be real careful 'bout catchin' him after that 'cause he might'a just been waitin' for 'em."

We shared a few laughs about it. Man, I cannot wait to see him and some of these other young players develop. Good times ahead!
