Title: Driver changes after 19
Post by: holeinthewall on August 14, 2019, 10:02:15 am
Matt D out of the 95 more than likely Bell in it as JGR satellite
David Ragan retiring 38 seat will be open
Bowyer contract up.  They say he is safe but I can't see Haas spending his own money and not having the team in the playoffs. I could see Bowyer out of a ride if he misses the playoffs

Busch has a 1 year deal in the 1 car.  Have to think the way he running Ganassi will keep him if at all possible.

Pretty much what I thought on the 95 car. Bell in it or they slide Jones over. I had not heard about Ragan retiring, might be a good seat for Dib. Listened to Pistone and Bagley on the way to work, they seem to think Bowyer gets another year at less money. Bowyer is another Kahne and Hamlin, talented but never had the consistent mindset to put it all together. Hamlin will implode before too long.

I don't think the 95 is going to be good enough for Bell. I think Gibbs is going to have to go all in with him or he goes elsewhere.

I was talking to someone in the know, she works in the NASCAR circle, about this and she said there's no way Toyota will let Bell get away.

Toyota is keeping him in the fold.  I also think that 95 team is going to get a lot more Gibbs help.  Bell is for real, and I think if Jones doesn't shake out in 2020, they probably move Bell to the 20.

No doubt about that. Always figured Toyota and Gibbs would do what had to be done to keep Bell.

Just a thought of my own but there could be 2 JGR drivers driving for their seat this year.

These guys start feeling their seat getting warm and then they start performing, should be doing it at the get go.

Erik Jones extended his contract with JGR
That just answered a lot of questions.

Menard retiring, Dibs to the 21 for Wood Brothers next year.

Awesome, I like that. Wood Bros. are the winners on this one for sure. Dib will bring some energy to the team like Blaney did.

That's a much better ride than Ragans

I can be a 21 fan next year. I think he can win races in that car.

Can't see Newman leaving after 2019.  However, the #41 Suarez and SHR have an option to end their deal after 2019.  I could see Custer getting that slot.

I could see that too. SHR is in a similar situation with CC as JGR is with Bell. A solid consistent talent they could lose if they donít find a seat for in cup. Suarez is the weak link in SHRís garage.

Suarez is the weak link in SHR’s garage.
Only reason he's there is because he brought money.

Suarez brings money, does Custer? It's all about the dollar anymore.

The 32 car is going to be a SHR aligned team for next year. Custer is rumored as a possibility to go there. Custer may not bring sponsor but he is the son of Joe Custer president of SHR
