Watched some of the drills with Froholdt and thought he did well.  Lots of praise during the lateral drill when mirroring another player moving side to side.  Joe Thomas said his footwork/feet shuffling was perfect.

I think froholdt was third best in the bench press.

Got 5th, but that's still really good! I'll try to put top 10 finishes by their stats.

Hjalte Froholdt at 6-4 5/8, 306 lbs, can run a 40 in 5.20, that's moving for that size of a fella.

Yeah for an interior lineman he only couldíve improved his stock. Legit size confirmed and can move well.

He looked great, didnít he?

Also worth noting how rare sub-4.4 40s really are. Iíve seen posters here claim that if you canít run sub4.45, you canít play corner in the SEC, like getting guys that can do that is just easy or something...

Yeah agree, plenty of good CB run 4.5 and up. Richard Sherman 4.56. I think josh Norman 4.6, Marcus Peters 4.53. itís great to have a blazing fast 40 time but how often are they running at all out 100%, in skimpy skin tight shorts/shirts with track spikes on for 40 yards? The 40 is a tad overrated. I do believe it has some merit because if you have a super fast 40 time you have to have some explosion and athletic ability. But weíve all seen the solid college player shoot up the draft board mostly because of a fast 40 time or they were a combine freak in general. Doesnít erase the tape from their college years but people tend to overreact to the combine sometimes.

Yep, Jerry Rice wasn't a blazing fast speed burner like a "Bo Jackson", but no one could hardly ever catch him.

If not, we will never win big again.

Hoping you understand that few humans on the planet will ever run a 4.41 40.  Willing to bet only 1 of them was 6-6 & 260.  Clowney ran a 4.53 and he was already considered a freak of nature.

We get guys in the 4.6-4.69 range, we will kick tail.  These are big humans moving REALLY fast.

Tyreek Hill ran a 4.24 40yd , and many DB's say that's not the stat that makes him so hard to catch on the football field, it's his instant change of gears.

Might be the only reason he got drafted, so far he's done nothing, future will tell if he's a good or great NFL qb.

Btw: he didn't back that up at the NFL combine, he sat it out..  why do you think he did that?
Led the Ravens to the playoffs. That's saying something.

No doubt, I think he has a bright future.

Have to agree Pulley's 40 isn't great, but he could still be a productve player in the NFL, perhaps more in zone schemes. The 40 is also arguably the most overrated measurable, and quickness, change of direction, the ability to to read and react, bump and run, etc. are just as if not more vital to success in the NFL. I am no draft expert, but I think Pulley could get picked up in the 5th to 7th round. JMHO.e

Some of the fastest times have been run by guys like Darius Heyward-Bey who was a total flop as a WR but has somehow hung around the league as a special teamer.

They don't call that guy the Cheetah for nothing. Some guys don't seem to be slowed by the pads at all or when cutting. Hill is one of those.

Didnít Carlos Hall run a 4.4 or something similar?

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/nfl-combine-results.cgi?request=1&year_min=2000&year_max=2019&pos%5B%5D=CB&show=all&c1stat=forty_yd&c1comp=gt&c1val=4.60&order_by=year_id

So, 33 players ran a 4.60 or slower at the combine who went on to be drafted since the year 2000 at CB. Presumably some players were also drafted that slow that were not invited to the combine and also some players have probably made rosters with such a forty time being undrafted.

So, that's close to 1.5 players per draft that meet that criteria meaning it isn't a particularly rare event, and possibly up to 2 players per year making rosters factoring in the other possible scenarios outlined above. Obviously not ideal or the most likely by any stretch, but a decent chance as well.
