There's a LOT of Basketball left!

I'm not ready to throw the towel in on this team yet. There's a ton of BB left and the Hogs have the talent to win any of the games left on their schedule.

No they aren’t.  I think they need to win 5 of 8 and one in the sec tournament.  4 home games left.

I agree there's basketball left. I hope we make the tournament, we'll need 21 wins total. If we don't, is it bad to ask for a new coach and scheme?

Then yes, if that's the case tournament hopes are dead because 5 of 8 is not happening.

Anything is possible no doubt, but anyone paying attention has to also realize things could tank. My glass is half empty right now but will always watch and hope. Just not emotionally anymore until something changes.

Some people look at half a glass of water and see it as half-empty, others see it as half full.

I simply see the glass, recognize that spin-be-darned it is only half full, and ask when someone is going to fill the darned thing up.

I like my glass full.

Or it's a glass 2x as big as it needs to be.....

The only way we make the tourney is if we win the sec tourney..yes there are some chances to get quality wins upcoming but I just dont see that happening.  We have 1 quality win right now. And when you have lost 4 on your home floor already and struggled to beat the worst team in the league at home that doesn't make me think home games will be an automatic win no matter who we play

The only hope we have of making the tournament at all is to win every remaining game except Kentucky and Auburn and we might would even have to win one of those so the season is pretty much over unless they can pull off some miracles.

Well, we should be able to beat Mizzou, A&M and Vandy to get to 17 wins. All three bottom four teams and it shouldn't matter where we play them.

Likely to lose at AU and Ky--so at least 11 losses.

Key will be the home games going down the stretch--MSU, OM and Bama are the pivotal games to me. Win all three (and they are home games) we could be sitting at 20 wins going into the SEC  tourney.

So, I'd say there's still hope.

Unless the glass is in a vacuum, it is full.  It is half full of whatever substance it contains and the other half is air.  Half + Half = Full.  You should be very happy now that you know your glass is indeed full.  Unless described glass is indeed in a vacuum and therefore actually half full or empty.

I hear you. But, I'm not going to throw the home games away just yet and I think if we're playing for something, then we can go in and beat Vandy in Nashville. Ironically, we've had some success in that gym.

The games to watch are the home games against MSU, OM and Bama. Really need all three.

Besides LSU look at the records of the teams we have beaten in conference play.  For that matter Indiana is having one of their 3-4 worst seasons in decades.

To complicate matters further, Georgia Tech is 11-13, and Western Kentucky and Texas are both 14-10.

They've got some talent, but they don't have the leadership that's needed on the team to win.  And the most important thing that they don't have that they desperately need is a good coach.  Mike Anderson was not the coach to hire in the first place 8 years ago and as I said then we will be stuck with him now until he decides to retire.  >:(

That "over-achievement" would be vs his own low bar of expectations.

It's kind of like a supposed honor student sitting a goal of making a D in class and getting a C.

It will be “the media predicted Arkansas to finish 10th and they finished 9th. Anderson outperforms again!”

Although there have been seasons where Anderson legitimately did outperform expectations, this is the kind of low bar satisfaction that we see from some of the more defend-the-coach-no-matter-what posters. These are the poster that unsarcastically throw out Anderson having never had a “losing season.” If we finish above 10th in the SEC but miss the NCAA tournament, we’ll hear about that as a feather in Mike’s cap.

The BOT is hearing the frustration and anger so I don't think they will be buying that sort of "improvement".   Empty seats tell the story. The boosters were pissed at Long well before MA's trend was unacceptable.   The main boosters that are not drunk on access/friendship with MA are upset that about MA's 8 years.  MA has only extended the Heath/Pel failure instead of returning us to glory. Now the boosters are very focused on making sure HY doesn't screw it up like Long did with Bielema.

The MA story is an 8 year story and we are in the 8th chapter.  All we ever heard was that MA could not reach success because he didn't have his players as an excuse for 5 years.  The last 3 years, he has had 2 future NBA League guards and even had a future Lottery Pick Center and still could not make a run.   After 3 years of some of his best players the MA story is mediocre in spite of some great talent.  The 9 new players this year is another one of his massive roster turnovers that is an example of his terrible roster management.

We should finish above 10th because:

teams 11-14 are bad and will lose most of their remaining games and we play 3 of them

Florida still has 3-4 losses coming

Beat MSU and will finish above them too given their remaining schedule

OM has 4 SEC losses and still has to play at AU, Tenn, UK and at BWA

Outside of the Tennessee and Ole Miss games, this team has been right there in every game. We need Daniel to be first team All SEC to have a chance to make the tournament in the next 8 games. We still haven't had that special game at the Bud where it seems everything has went our way. If the Hogs can beat Vandy and Mizzou on the road and win all their home games, they will be right there come tournament time. 19 wins prior to going into the SEC tournament. Win one tournament game and we're in the tournament 4 out of 5 years.

Mike has to coach the guards to get the ball to Gafford early in the possession and make Gafford try harder to get position.  Gabe is our best at feeding Gafford which is not a good sign after more than 20 games.  KES is the best at making cuts to the basket and Gabe is the best at passing to the back cut players.  Harris gets frustrated when nobody is moving, cutting and using proper spacing.  We can go on a run if MA makes big changes here.  The only way we can win is to improve these issues because our half court offense is killing us as bad as our defense.

Wow!  Cause to celebrate!  :puke:

Our tournament hopes are completely dead

If they win 6 of 8 and one in the SEC tourney, they'll be in.

If we finish decent, we are your typical NIT team. I don't see a path to the tournament that doesn't involve more winning than we are capable of.
