Team fought hard
« on: January 12, 2019, 07:49:07 pm »

I was angry after the Florida loss. Canít really be upset after the effort tonight. The problem tonight: LSU has some studs and in order to beat them you have to slow it down and play smarter. We apparently canít do that.  Great game for Gafford. Pleased to see us respond from a bad loss with that much effort. We let the game get away from us in the first half. Joe/Sills going to have to figure out how to score so that Bailey isnít having to shoot open shots. LSU was clearly game planning to let Bailey shoot and not let Joe get open. Better game plan than we had.

If that kid doesn't hyperextend his knee, I think we win. We had thoroughly depantsed them and that prolonged break let them regroup.

I would like to see a rule that doesn't allow teams to use breaks like that as if they were timeouts. Make the players go to the end of the floor opposite their bench until the issue is settled.

Another thought on tonight's outcome. Gafford was clearly fouled on that game tying dunk. The defender was trying to body him just to prevent the dunk. Obviously no guarantee he would've converted the and one. He did deserve the opportunity.

Certainly a loss but if it was a mature team getting beat there would be little hope.. but we are very young, are fighting extremely hard and never quit.. nobody has manhandled us.. we've been in every game with a real chance to win them all.. FT shooting is killing us but I expect over time, with these new guys it'll get better.. maybe not this year but they are talented.. it hurts but you gotta like how hard they fight even after almost getting knocked out..

The only Ďapathyí I see is with some fair weather Ďfansí.  The boys fought hard.  If Joe wasnít in this slump, we would have won.  He will come out of it and we will win some no one expects.  These piglets donít know they are supposed to lose.  The individual new players are used to winning.  They wonít quit until they start winning again.  Then they will only stop at the final buzzer.

Thatís just one reason I love this group.

They wonít quit, even though some of the Ďfansí have, only 3 games into conference play.

Their "game plan" was to buy a team-load of five star recruits.  It worked brilliantly.

I donít know what we deserve, but I know these young men deserve respect.

Every one of these exceptional athletes made conscious decisions to become RAZORBACKS.

Iím sure most, if not all, could have gone elsewhere.

They chose to become RAZORBACKS!

I was born into being a Razorback, and got my degree there, not all these kids were raised like me, but I am so thankful they CHOSE to be HAWGS!

Those are always possible.  Itís also possible that we hit a homerun.  Lots were said about not being able to get anyone if we got rid of Nutt also and we ended up getting a NFL coach that got us to our 2 best seasons in 20+ years in the SEC. Mike will get this year and if he canít make it to the tournament then I am all for finding another coach.

Fought hard? Getting destroyed at every part of the game you call fighting hard? We would not even have been as close as we were if their top two players had not fouled out. This was a piss poor performance other than Gafford. Passing the ball all over the place about to lose it on every pass, tripping over one another, can't hit free throws, cannot create a shot.

Nobody is saying one word about the players.

This is all about the coach who is in Year 8.

Yes, he was able to take us out of the depth of pel, but he is now taking us as far as he can.

They question is is where we are good enough or not?

If it is, then the university of Arkansas is not playing for championships

Hard fought loss no doubt and it looked much prettier because we scored some points.   Much more fun to watch when we score but the name of the game is a Win.  Whether we win with defense or offense it is a W we are looking for.  Last week games were polar opposites but both were losses.  Sure when we score 90+ and lose it looks and feels better than when we only score 60 and loss but it was still a loss.

I want a coach who can win those ugly games.

U of A can have all the ceremonies they want in an effort to fill the cave up; but Raz orback basketball has disappeared.  Mike aint Nolan so move on.   Every year a new excuse.    Will see if new AD has a backbone.  However, he don't appear to have the control button.   As long as money flows u of a leaders happy.   Good kids that need new leadership.

Give me a break. I have been saying 'I want Mike' for at least the previous 2 seasons.
He is a Nolan Prodigy.  Say what you want, but Nolan took us to the Promised Land. So, for Mike's first season to compare SO favorably to Nolan's first season is a harbinger of wonderful things to come!

And, Hey!  He got 'butts in the seats'!  (Correct my 'blue book' punctuation if necessary, Breems.  I been out of 'the cyclops' for quite a while! Lol.)

LSU looked so much more athletic, so much more talented than most of our players. When you're buying players you can really assemble a great team.  So far it appears that maybe only Gafford and Mason Jones can compete at the SEC level.  They were brilliant last night, the rest of the team, other than Chaney, looked overwhelmed.

Road win vs. home loss. You make it sound like a negative for LSU

And More talent? In just his second year? That can't be right.
