Stature?  My dad was 5'10" and my mom was 5'1" and the rest of their families were similar.  I am 6'1" and my brother is 6'4".  Never can tell.

Man I hope we get him. There’d be some unusual dynamics with his dad as coach but some around here that have seen him play say he can make all the throws.
You know the story of Steph Curry,  of course? A lot of big-time coaches, especially at Va Tech , were hugely embarrassed if not down right humiliated. Love it when the know-it-alls turn out to be e extremely SHORT sighted and look like fools.

Only one game, John Tyler, but you can get some idea of what the young man can do.

https://247sports.com/Player/Chandler-Morris-46040236/Videos/

from an untrained eye:  He looks safety's off and goes thru his progressions really nice for such a young kid... seems relaxed in the pocket, even under duress.. arm looks like it could be stronger, which should happen, but throws a catchable ball and also throws with some zip when needed.. his anticipation on the deep ball down the left sideline was really nice... you can tell the kid has a very high football IQ...

Yep, one of the best of all time QB's in the NFL is only 5'11", even though they give him credit as a 6 footer.

Of course. Drew Brees is 5'11, so everyone who is 5'11 must be awesome.

Watched Okla & Alabama play last night.  Probably had the 2 best QB's in college this year, certainly the most successful.  Neither of them are very tall, but they can sure play.

My gut is usually right, and my gut is saying Chandler Morris is a real player.
Not just a coach's son.
Of course, one could say that's not going out on a limb, considering he already has offers from Clemson, Auburn, etc.
But the natural instinct is to treat him like John Stephen Jones. "He's a legacy recruit, nice player, but..."

I think that line of thinking would be way wrong in this case.
I think Chandler could be in the Drew Brees mode i.e. a guy who is overlooked in some ways, but a guy who just plays the QB position very well. Good arm, good feet, smart, quick release, knows the position, knows the progressions, etc.

I don't like having coach's kids on the team, because of the constant commentary of him being favored over the other QBs, but I think we swallow that and get this kid.

Mold

Also people need to stop thinking coach's kids get it easy. Coach's go harder on their own son's than the other kids usually.

Well, Brees is 40, but I wouldn't call him moldy just yet :)

I agree the coach is usually harder on their own kids. But I was mainly referring to the constant talk from fans and perception/doubts from teammates and particularly the other QBs that they're not being treated fairly. It could even affect recruiting. 'Why would I want to go there---they're just going to play the coach's kid anyway?'. Stuff like that.

Yeah, he went to Shiloh and then was a walk-on QB.

Just saw his high light video.  Young Mr. Morris is a player.  His allusiveness is good with good speed when he decides to take off.
