Return to Normalcy—PLEASE READ
« on: November 28, 2018, 09:19:32 pm »

Well, it's been a very long season.  Suffice to say, it didn't go the way any of us hoped.  Whether you think the cause was coaching, players, plagues of locusts, dogs and cats living together, total chaos--no one's ever going to be happy with a 2-win season.  And you shouldn't be.  2-win seasons aren't the standard for any SEC program, including Arkansas.

That being acknowledged, everyone's had their time to vent.  We've all been able to work out our emotions, but now it's time to return to some normalcy and moderation of MMQB will reflect the need for a more civil, meaningful dialog.

Only time will tell whether or not Chad Morris ultimately gets it done at Arkansas.  There isn't a "company line" or "administrative position."  Anyone with a little sense knew this thing wasn't a one-year turnaround.  Any coach's success, or lack thereof, will always be a topic of discussion.  Performance is why they get paid the big bucks, and they have millions of reasons to claim the credit or shoulder the blame.  Still, there are guidelines that are expected to be followed as we move forward into this offseason:

    •   Coach Morris' family arrangements are off the table.  Mentions of him being "part time" or taking shots at his family for making decisions about their kids will result in the ban hammer coming out.  The implication that the team won 2 games because of this is as baseless as it is ridiculous.
    •   Player bashing is not permitted.  Critique of observable performance is one thing; attacks that are either baseless or personal are another altogether.
    •   Threads that have limited or no value or are only intended to be inflammatory will be deleted.  Posters whose main purpose is to troll other posters or start flame wars will be banned.
    •   Don't derail threads or post multiple threads about the same topic.
    •   Don't complain about moderation in posts.  If you have a problem, feel free to contact moderators or admins.  Posts complaining about moderation, including the passive/aggressive ones, will be deleted; repeated posts will result in bans.  Nothing's perfect, but the mods and admins get paid the same amount as your membership fee:  0.

Posters make Hogville, and the forum will only be as good as we are.  That includes the quality of the posts and how we treat each other and the topics under discussion.  Thanks again for making Hogville the online home for Arkansas Razorback sports discussion.

After visiting this evening with Lanny, I will add one more point to NSR’s post. If you are banned, do not contact an administrator or moderator to discuss the ban.

An addendum:

Politics aren't allowed in MMQB.  There is a political board if you can't fight the urge.  Posts that are political in nature, or just can't resist using Trump, Obama, Pelosi, snowflake, libtard, Nazi, wingnut, blah blah blah will get deleted.  Repeated posts of this nature will result in time outs.

As NaturalStateReb stated, "everyone's had their time to vent.  We've all been able to work out our emotions, but now it's time to return to some normalcy and moderation of MMQB will reflect the need for a more civil, meaningful dialog".

I will add that this goes for ALL Game Threads as well. We were very lenient in the MMQB Game Threads this season, but I just don't see how we could have handled a record setting season (that we are not likely to repeat) any differently. All Game Threads are for discussing the current game in a civil manner and not a place for bashing players and other posters and not to be used as a sounding board for venting and repeatedly showing your frustrations on the same subject matter.

And, I agree 100% that "posters make Hogville, and the forum will only be as good as we are.  That includes the quality of the posts and how we treat each other and the topics under discussion.  Thanks again for making Hogville the online home for Arkansas Razorback sports discussion".

Thanks NaturalStateReb!
