Pettway physically looked like a legit SEC receiver last Saturday. Wonder what the story is there.

He seems to have inconsistent motivation.  He doesn't fight and physically push through Press Coverage, YET he is a physical specimen that should be able to excel in that fight.  Weird to say the least.

With Storey I would be very confident with him out we may well be in for another loss.

Game shouldn't be won or lost on our anemic passing game.  This game should be about running the ball and stopping the run.  Get creative in our run game if we have to (ie Boyd not 100%) and involve a player like Warren in addition to Hayden and Williams.  I look for Chavis to rotate in a lot of players in the first half in the line and to see backup LBs more often early.

I like that analysis.  The Tulsa defense is terrible against the pass so Connor NOland won't be going up against a Bama, A&M, AU, etc defense.

Because their RS Freshman backup QB who has played the last 2 games for Tulsa is 19-52 with a 36.5% completion percentage and had a 75.9 QBR in his last game. He's not exactly Tua Tagovailoa.

I was concerned and worried that Ty isn't playing.  I decided to look at the good.  I started thinking about Connor Noland and what I saw of him against UNT.  First of all, the Oline is light years different from the UNT game.  CN is cat quick with sudden change of direction and can pass on the run.  He has a pretty good arm too.  He is like a poor man's Manziel.   With that being said, he can escape blitzes and roll away from pressure.

CN doesn't know the defenses and matchups good enough to audible correctly.  Then again, we could run the RPO more as it removes the alignment/audible issue and reduces it to a real time decision based on what the defender does-  the QB decides to keep it or release it to the RB or pass it.  The RPO may be perfect for a True FR QB that to reduce pressure on the kid.  He has already run this offense in HS.  In Fact his HS coach has used the CCM offense to set up some of his offense.

I think the RPO run by a real dangerous run threat opens the run lanes for Boyd even more.  The RPO has been good at times with Ty but he is not as quick as CN.  Ty is probably just as fast as CN but he isn't as quick thus he is not a Dangerous Run threat.  I could see us do some delay QB runs to burn pass rushers with CN since he can change direction so quickly.

We may fall apart or we may see a good performance for a victory.

The poll numbers the day before the game are a sad snapshot.

This pretty much sums up my feelings today, especially the last line.

I was 95% confident with Ty and Boyd.  Iím 70% confident with Noland and Boyd.  Probably about 60% confident with Cole and Boyd.  No Boyd and I would go to toss up at best so hopefully he stays healthy.

I like that analysis.  The Tulsa defense is terrible against the pass so Connor NOland won't be going up against a Bama, A&M, AU, etc defense.

Tulsa is #22 in the country in passing yards allowed, just ahead of Kentucky who is #23. Alabama comes in at #29, Auburn #44, LSU #56, A&M is #92. Now I'm not suggesting that Tulsa has the same quality of athletes as those other schools but they are doing something right to be #22 and especially with a front 7 that doesn't apply a lot of QB pressure up front. Their rush defense isn't that great (#113) allowing 214.5 yds/gm so I think the Hogs run and run some more...maybe all day long. We might not throw the ball more than 15-20 times all day where we normally average 31 attempts each game.

More importantly, our defense needs to redeem itself today.
