76,000 could show up and it doesn't mean we didn't waste our 160 million.
I donít think the $160M was a waste on the RRS additions.
More concerned about the $3.5M we are wasting on a high school coach obviously in over his head.

So what you're saying is you're gonna be mad no matter what?
I'm not mad. Very little of it was my money. But I don't think the expansion was necessary or even wise.

About the same amount that would show up if the game were played in war memorial, or less.

I will be there along with my wife.  It'll be a gorgeous day and the temperature will be on the mild side with it being forecast at around 86-87 degrees at kickoff with a slight breeze blowing.  Anyone that thinks that's hot has stayed indoors all their lives and never had to live without air conditioning, I pity them.

yeah 90 degrees in RRS in the sun is hot. field temp was 133 degrees for eastern illinois. its supposed to be the same 88 degress at kickoff as it was for the first game. so yeah, its going to be really hot, especially over on the east side.

The attendance would be a lot better if it was a night game or at least a later start.  It's hot as crap on that East side!

We're so soft these days, I remember when...........

Anyway, 86į with a NE wind blowing through the gap.

Saturday-Sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?x=82&y=47&site=lzk&zmx=&zmy=&map_x=82&map_y=47#.W5qBB3pOlTs

Never will forget that early September game in Little Rock about 20 or so years ago. I was certain it was against UNLV, but somebody on here a couple of years ago corrected me and said it was someone else....maybe Boise St. But it was ridiculously hot that day - that was when we had those railed-in boxes with four folding chairs in each box behind the visitor sidelines on the east side. Appropriately enough, in Section 8.

That was back in the day when I was trying to be slick, wearing my cardinal red blazer, white shirt and khakis. Cowboy boots were for the half pints on either side of both legs. Needless to say, after that game I went to T-shirts and shorts. Cold weather or night games got the sweatshirt and overalls out of the closet. (Plenty of pockets in overalls by the way LOL).

But I do feel for people who have to sit on the east side Saturday, when you're trying to sit and watch a ball game while staring into a blazing hot sun, it's pretty damn uncomfortable. Gotta just forget being embarrassed about sweating your butt off and let it rip.

Stub hub has about 350 to 400 tickets remaining.  I was surprised there wasn't more after CSU loss.  UA website still has a decent amount left.  Mostly upper half of upper level.  I'd say around 5,000.  I bought upper level west side 9 rows up on the aisle yesterday.  The entire row was open.  Sat in basically the same seats for EIU game.  Realize I probably could have gotten cheaper or better at the game but like having the aisle and knowing where I'm going to sit.

It was nice when there was a cloud and a breeze.  May be a little cloudier than it was 2 weeks ago which should help but it was pretty brutal for the walk to the stadium and first part of the EIU game.  Will definitely be parking closer this time.

With all that being said.  Paid will be 70k  I'm thinking actual 65k.

Actual scanned tickets 65k??

21k more than the first game?? uh, no.

I know the heat is a problem, but to me a 3:00 start say if temps were decent is perfect for maxing out attendance because people can come from almost all areas of the state and not have to spend the night so it's the cheapest of scenarios.  Yes it may put some in the corners getting home around midnight but that's still not terrible

many fans had to buy tickets through UA or ticketmaster type sites due to either our allotment being sold out or sent back before they bought their tickets.  there will be specks of green outside of the visitors section.  be nice to us!

We will be nice...if you bring the Jazz band w you to play at halftime.

I bet there is a lot of excitement around Denton about the team, I think it's awesome. I was born in Denton, spent my early childhood in Lewisville (when it was still kind of a country area) - loooong time ago, but still Denton is in my heart.

I went to Elementary School w Ladarrin McLane

unfortunately, no band...too expensive to bring all 400ish band members and they weren't going to just do a pep band type thing...all or nothing.

tons of excitement, but tempered...scary game...don't want old denton to show up (lose every big game we play and lose momentum that we need)  time for new denton!

I'm excited for you guys....of course, I want the Hogs to win, but either way - good luck the rest of the season.  I, for one, will be paying close attention to how things turn out. Denton is a good town, N. Texas a good school.

I realize bands are expensive so....maybe just send Norah Jones for halftime.

Thanks in advance, it should help attendance.

I think it is our civic duty to attend the games to ensure that the stadium renovation is a success and to ensure that no one's tax dollars are used to pay down or service the debt.

$44.3 million has already been raised for the renovation via private gift support.  So more than a 1/4 of the $160 million has been accounted.  You'd know this if you were a donor because it was in the annual report sent out to all RF members.  I'm sure they appreciate the .000001 cent that YOUR taxes guaranteed if we fail to raise the money.

BUT since you are so concerned with your tax money then you need to go after the athletic departments who collect subsidies and student fees to prop up their athletic departments.

jonesboro tech, conway college, and litte rock university all use tax money (subsidies) and student fees to operate their athletic department.

Lol, if you're complaining about sitting outside in the mid 80's supporting your states team being miserable, your options are:

- Move North and find a cold weather team to support
- Lose weight so you're not sweating when it's over 65 degrees
- Suck it up and get Indoor Club Tickets
- Realize you're above ground watching a kids game and you can shower later

I got plenty of weird looks for saying this before, but Norah Jones is the Etta James of her generation. Frankly, I am not sure anyone filled the gap in between the two. Good to see someone agrees about NJ....I still pull up old videos of her on YouTube and put the headphones on, and I don't care who knows!

Miserably hot day? If someone with tickets doesn't wanna go because of this, my wife and i can take our boys in place of you. We'd be happy to sit in upper 80 degree weather and watch the hogs.
