Coach Richardson and Anderson given a shoutout on hit Netflix show
« on: September 03, 2018, 03:33:14 pm »

Not sure how many people have netflix subscriptions, but one of their most popular original shows, Ozarks, staring Jason Bateman, just released it's second season.  I was watching it, and during one of the episodes where Bateman's character was talking to his Lawyer, she said they were going to put on a full court press and bring 40 minutes of hell against the FBI who is trying to indict him.  Bateman's character just looked at her crazy, and she made fun of him for not knowing about Nolan Richardson and his championship run at Arkansas, also mentioned Mike Anderson's name as being his protege and the current coaching using that term, although they mentioned CMA as the coach of Mizzou, so I'm guessing the timeline in set back a few years.  Anyways I thought it was pretty cool.

It's an awesome show. Reminds me of Carroll County AR back in the 90's.

I haven't seen that episode yet, but I do enjoy the show. I went back and watched season 1 again a couple of weeks ago before 2 came out.

Itís mentioned in episode seven. I was taken by total surprise when the Hogs were mentioned. Canít beat free publicity. I have a feeling one of the producers must have Arkansas ties.

It's likely the Hogs will get some more free advertising in the next True Detective season on HBO. Season 3 takes place mostly in the 80s-90s in the Ozarks, much of it filmed in Fayetteville. My childhood home will be featured. The director/creator is a U of A alumni.

No not in the same league! I like the show but no way it's better than Breaking Bad.
