Kirk: Move to Safety Suits Curl as 2019 Season Approaches
« on: August 10, 2018, 02:40:58 pm »

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore safety Kamren Curl and the Razorbacks will open the season on Saturday, Sept. 1, when they host Eastern Illinois.

Curl is back after finishing sixth on the team last year with 46 tackles. He played in all 12 games and started 11 of them. His only non-start was the season opener, but when Ryan Pulley went down with an injury just before intermission then Curl took over that cornerback spot.

This season, Curl will make the transition to safety. He spent the entire spring drills working at safety. How has the move been for you?

Curl is a safety period and I believe will be a great one. The things he did best last year play into this, he was physical with WRs, and really good in run support. He lacks the top end speed and is a little tight in the hips to make a great CB, but doesn't need those traits as much to be a great safety.
