Jonathan Williams with solid game last night

He has a good shot at starting the season as the #2 running back for New Orleans

Jonathan Williams

The third-year running back from Arkansas led all Saints backs with 26 yards on four carries. He turned what looked to be a short gain into a 13-yard run by bursting from the pile and racing through a pair of would-be Jaguars tacklers. The run set up a nifty 4-yard scoring run by Williams that proved to be the game-winner. Williams has a nice combination of size (6-0, 223 pounds) and nimble feet, which aid him on tough interior runs between the tackles. He is battling veterans Shane Vereen and Terrence West for the important No. 2 running back spot behind Alvin Kamara until Mark Ingram returns from suspension and certainly helped his cause with his performance Thursday night.
