SEC Projections
« on: August 01, 2018, 10:19:32 am »

I've put together some projections for the upcoming SEC football season.  I'm of the belief that the SEC is largely going to beat up on each other this year, with only a few teams really separating themselves from the rest.  I have Arkansas at 7-5 beating E Illinois, Colorado St, N Texas, Ole Miss, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, and LSU.  I won't be surprised, however, if we slip up and lose to Colorado St early in the year. I think we hit our mid season stride around the Ole Miss game and carry a 4 game home winning streak into our last two road games against Miss St and Missouri.

I see the SEC as a whole shaking out into 3 major tiers. Tier 1: Alabama, Georgia, Auburn; Tier 2: Missouri, Miss St, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida; Tier 3: Arkansas, South Carolina, LSU, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Kentucky.

West:
Alabama 12-0 (8-0)
Auburn 9-3 (6-2)
Miss St 7-5 (4-4)
Texas A&M 7-5 (4-4)
Arkansas 7-5 (3-5)
LSU 5-7 (2-6)
Ole Miss 5-7 (2-6)

East:
Georgia 11-1 (7-1)
Missouri 7-5 (5-3)
Tennessee 7-5 (4-4)
Florida 7-5 (4-4)
S Carolina 6-6 (3-5)
Vanderbilt 5-7 (2-6)
Kentucky 4-8 (1-7)

It makes me sick to predict Alabama to go undefeated, but I don't see a game on their schedule that would concern me if I was a Bama fan. Auburn will test them, but the Iron Bowl is in Tuscaloosa this year so I see the Tide running the table.  :puke:
