Well maybe he is camera shy.. Just wanted to go somewhere (Thanks to the NCAA Violations) that will have quite a few less cameras watching..

They didn't get any TV ban, and will be off of post-season ban before he enrolls

Don't get it at all.  What changed in the last 6 months?

Published: Monday, February 12, 2018

Current Razorbacks head coach Chad Morris was quick to reassure Thomas he had one with the new staff as well and took his entire offensive staff to Jonesboro to see the standout.

ďI like how the new Arkansas coaches recruit,Ē Thomas said. ďThey are very personable and I have really enjoyed the time that I have Received a chance to be with them so far.Ē

He is eager to build on his relationship with new Razorback offensive line coach Dustin Fry.

ďI have met him and he is a real good guy,Ē Thomas said. ďHe seemed like he really knows what he is talking about when he comes to the O-line. I canít wait to get up there and sit down and visit with him more and get into it deeper.Ē

ďI am going to commit before the season starts, not have that on my mind and just be able to be focused on my last football season,Ē Thomas said.

Hugh freeze might have left a tarnished legacy, but he did leave a legacy or winning there even if it was by obviously dubious means. Good luck to the kid.

I wish him no luck at Ole Miss whatsoever. I do hope he changes his mind and calls the Hogs but luck at Ole Miss? Sorry, no way.

It is disappointing as a Hog fan losing an instate kid like this.

This. Ole Miss elevated their recruiting profile. In the end getting hit by the NCAA was worth it.

They also got Jonathan Mingo today a 4* WR the hogs offered and yesterday they got Dannis Jackson another 4* WR the hogs offered.

So they've got 3 - 4* to commit in the last two days.  All 3 offered by the hogs.

We gave out 250 offers, someone is going to get 227 of them.......

Ole Miss now has 27 committed. How many can they sign this year anyway? Didn't their "punishment" include some scholarship losses?

I think they only had 1 reduced scholarship left and then they lost 7 players in the offseason to transfer.

Wish him well and move on to the next One. Kids leaving is not some new concept.

so why OMU over the Hogs ?

1) Closer to home, important for the family
2) We chased other high school guys harder than him
3) Out recruited
4) Family liked Bielema, didn't visit after the change

The most important, IMO, 2 1/2 hours from Jonesboro.

I don't get people ripping on those leaving the state when our survival as a viable SEC team requires us to get copious amounts of out of state talent - people that left their home state. Face it. Can't get them all.

Big mistake on the staff's part, IMO.  Especially as bad as we need tackles.

Donít be too upset with Thomas leaving. Later this week Wilkins be announcing his commitment to OU. Yes, itís bad to lose in state talent but I have confidence this staff will find suitable replacements and in the next couple of years the names Thomas and Wilkins will be distance memories.

Well, they tried earlier to get 2/3 high school guys, who decided to stay home in their home states.

Guess it depends on whether or not going after him really hard was ever going to overcome the family liking Bielema and being closer to OM.

Would be a bigger mistake to pour resources into a kid they are not going to get.

We wonít have an OT on the roster next year with legit SEC offers and have had 3 in the state the past 2 years and will go ofer.

Fry has zero experience coaching or recruiting at this level (just like Kurt Anderson) and it is showing.  He better be the best OL coach in history or we are going to be in serious trouble in the next couple of years.

Caldwell and Stepp canít recruit everyone- canít afford weak links at this level or it will be magnified and not in a good way

Noah Gatlin had MSU, they aren't legit? Like Jones had Mizzou, I'd say the same. I guess Winkel's offers weren't legit?

Missed the OT part. Well I bet we go JUCO route for 1 or 2 of them in this class. Bamidele Olaseni at Garden City looks pretty good and has good offers. Otis said he is gonna check in with the coaches on him soon. Is Jospeh Stone at 6-8 really gonna play guard? He is listed as a guard on 247.

https://247sports.com/player/bamidele-olaseni-46053088

Otis listed these guys are targets in another thread.

Tim Anderson, 6-5, 270, Saddleback (Calif.) College
Anthony Whigan, 6-5, 290, Lackawanna (Pa.) Community College
Chibueze Nwanna, 6-7, 315, Lackawanna (Pa.) Community College
Bamidele Olaseni, 6-8, 330, Garden City (Kan.) Community College
Josh Donovan, 6-5, 330,  Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College
Charles Cross, 6-5, 285, Laurel (Miss.)

I haven't really looked at any of these guys, but my guess is that they are largely not heavily recruited.  Doesn't mean we can't find a quality player there, but I think the worry/criticism about OT recruiting has merit, too.

You never want to lose a talented player, but OT is not a priority in this offense and doesn't have to be.  This is not Belema's "hold the ball for 8 seconds while somebody gets open" offense.  It's about timing and getting rid of the ball on time.  That takes a lot of pressure off of the O-line.  O-linemen are gravy.  Much like skill guys were ion our last offense.
