I don't have one yet. I mean no gut feeling either way. I must wait for the end of fall camp before I get that gut feeling. Maybe after our first two games are over i might get that gut feeling of winning or losing. It is too early for me.

I want to see our starting line up and back ups first. See how they perform in a full game. Right now I don't know what we got or how we play under coach Morris yet.

Hopeful, but hope we don’t see the “didn’t realize how tough Sec defenses are”.

Coach did coach at Clemson so hopefully that experience has his eyes wide open.  Hopefully he is an offensive master as some say.

Hopeful.  I’ll be in the stands regardless.

The Hogs will play 12 regular season games, - winning some and losing some.  I am unqualified to confidantly predict the proportionate duality percentages of those two future fortunes considerations.

I hope for the best possible results.  I have my nostrils crossed, smelling a new excitement in the air.

I think the defense will be surprisingly good.

I don't have a clue how the offense will look / huge transition from our old offense to Chad Morris' offense.
It's going to be interesting to see if we have a QB who can run it effectively.

6 or 7 wins. I'll have it narrowed down before the season starts.

I believe we will either win 7 games and maybe 8 games this year. The talent is their.

  • Do unto others as you would have them do to you

I'm feeling six with a possible seventh in conference upset if we progress during the season as I hope and then maybe a bowl win but I'll know more at the end of the season. :)

  • It's better to burn out than fade away.

A lot of our players, especially the young ones, are going back to a more familiar offense and a more aggressive defense. My gut says we'll get seven, regular season.

4 to 6 wins with several close losses. Very similar to the 2008 season.

5-7. We will struggle to score. Defense should be better. O line and QB just not talented enough. Kicking game struggles again.

We will see improvement some in 2019, but by 2020 we should be good enough for 7-8 wins.

I think the schedule for the next two years gives the chance for 7 wins. In 2020 things will be tougher. If the conference goes to 9 conference game it will be even tougher.

coach, my back hurts

I’m am hoping for 7-5. But more importantly to me is how we compete against Alabama and Auburn. I’m tired of the 30 point beat downs. I think we can beat vandy and two of LSU misst miss and mizz.

I think our defense will be vastly improved. Chavis has been around far too long to be out schemed and players to be out of position. I also look for our players to play aggressive and play faster.

If you go back the last 5 years it has been our offense that has crapped the bed late in games. BB should have won 10 or more games during his tenure if it weren’t for complete meltdowns. If we can erase those, then I think we will be fine. And Morris is thought to be a reputable offensive mind.

Gut feeling 7 wins. There is talent on this team. If CM can get these guys to play with the heart his SMU teams did we are in for a treat.

  • Life is too short for bad beer.

7-5 regular season is my gut.  Could slip to 6-6 or bump up to 8-4 if we hit stride and pull an upset.  That’s what my gut says.  I think there will be flashes of a great future but some first year growing pains.  I also feel we’ll finally be proud of our defense again for the most part which will be a welcome change.

I'm feeling they will be better than expected.  At first.  But once I get all fired up they will fold and that feeling will be crushed again. I think there are good athletes on the team.  It's down to how the new coaches coach them.  Stars beside their name doesn't mean much to me until I see them play well coached.

  • Is it football season yet?

Gut tells me 5-7, but we do have some horses, so I'll go 6-6. With a couple good bounces of the football, 7-5.

Agree on defense. Quick turnarounds on defense are fairly common.  It will help if we can stay relatively healthy this year.

I feel pretty good about the offense.  Watch some of the shifts and two-back sets SMU ran last year.  We may use the first three games to test the passing game but could settle into an offense that uses motion, jet-sweeps, and misdirection to create space for a good stable of backs.  This offense may look more like 2006 than 2010 as CCM transitions to a 50-50 run-pass ratio.  It may turn out to be more like 60-40 run this year, but not three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust.

My gut is that we're going to be a lot better than last year.  We'll win at least six, but every additional win after that will take outstanding effort and some breaks.  Who knows what might happen with momentum.

Regrettably, at times I seem to have a nose for trouble.  Here's hoping the Hogs bask in the sweet smell of victory this season, - - and are not obliged to establish close communion with podiatrists due to da agony of da feet.

6 +/- 1 wins.     4th or 5th in the West with close games and with improvement from week to week.

Gut is 8-4 but the 8th win is a 35-28 upset vs Alabama.

Hawghiggs

 8-4.

1, Easiest Schedule in years

2, New Style of playing

3, Healther players due to lighter schedule, and different style of physical conditioning.

5-6 wins, but most loses are going to be competitive.

If the players buy into what CCM is selling then I think 7 is very doable. However, I'm going with 6 to hedge my bet.

6-8 wins depending on some breaks. Confidence could get high if we were to pull off beating A&M.

6-6 with a bowl win against a bottom tier team.
This is about where I am... especially if we can somehow start clicking at the QB position. 6 wins regular season with a win in the Liberty bowl would actually be a huge step in the right direction in comparison to previous years. Especially if we are competitive in games where we are big underdogs.

Early gut feeling has been 5 wins. Understanding that coaching makes a huge difference, and thinking Chad Morris is a good coach, I am starting to think a bowl appearance is very possible.

  • Never Forget, Never Yield!

6-6 again . . . just want a Bowl for the extra practice reps and recruiting visibility.  Optimistic for a 7th win because the “cupboard wasn’t left totally bare.”  We have talent in this team.  Just don’t know how quick the new offensive, defensive, special-teams schemes will be picked up by the players.  Looking forward to seeing what this new staff brings  to the table.

It's hard to predict a win total for the season. I just think these guys will be hungry and be competitive and play with passion.

It depends on QB play more than any other spot. Worst case 4 wins to best 8 wins. 2020 may be the year things really start to come into focus.  :)
