I had never seen the way the line judge signaled TD's back then until you started posted these clips and wonder when they stopped.  It's pretty dramatic.

I believe the linesmen signaled TD's like a modern first down as a signal to the referee. Only the referee could signal an actual touchdown. I can vaguely remember high school officials signaling TD's by pointing (Dad took me to high school games when I was 4.)

I've read and heard about Mickey Cissel's field goal against Texas many times, but I've never seen it. Thanks.

Ditto.  My parents went to school with a lot of those players. They lived in Carlson Terrace when I was born.  I heard my mother call Mickey "The Toe" many times.  His son Michael was a heck of an athlete.

The '55 game was my first Razorback game to attend.  First time I've seen highlights of the game.  Thanks for posting.
